It was many years ago. I was （朗读）a story to my little girl on the sofa. When it came to the end, I finished with those famous words". . . and they lived happily ever after. "As I looked into her big （明亮的）eyes, I knew that the ending of the book was what I wanted for her.

    Still, （深的）in my heart I knew that this couldn't always be so. I knew sometimes her heart was broken. I knew sometimes she was （悲伤）and lonely. I hoped that those times wouldn't last（长久）and that she would often have joy in her life. Living happily ever after, though, seemed impossible.

    It took me a lot of years to （意识到）that it is possible to live happily ever after. You just have to do it "one day at a time. "Happiness isn't what you get at the end of your （旅途）. Happiness doesn't （依靠）on what life hands you. Happiness is something you create in your life day by day.

    The （实情）is that happiness comes when you love. Love is a （礼物）from life. It is love that fixes broken hearts. It is love that gives us joy. Choose to "live happily ever after, one day at a time."
