How to Organize a Music Festival

    You love music and you always have. You want to carry out a music festival designed to attract music fans of all ages. Follow the steps and you'll organize a successful one.

    Start by making a list of the local bands and artists that you like. You've taken this job because you love music, so put your taste to work for you. If you like these musicians, many of the local residents will also like them. You need to have many kinds of music for all age groups.

    Find a great location that has much open space for outdoor festivals. You need to build a stage so the musicians can be seen from distances. Not all towns need such license but it is a good idea to check before you start building. For an indoor location, you need to find a theater that is willing to give you enough space.

    Hire sound and engineering people to give the musicians all the help they need. You can't expect the musicians to handle these problems because they are playing. Your sound and engineering experts will allow your stars to keep the music playing.

     If you are planning your festival for families, the last thing you want is a beer-swilling crowd starting a huge brawl (斗殴). Security people need to be present to make sure that nobody gets the idea that they want to start any kind of ruckus(骚乱).

A. You need to find security people.

B. Bigger sports stadiums will be perfect as well.

C. We can find enough songs to get a lot of money.

D. People should have practiced many different songs.

E. But remember, you are trying to attract fans of all ages.

F. The last thing you want is that a group is on the stage but the speakers don't work.

G. You can find a location by going to the local government and asking for permission.

                                          How to Care for Your Ears?

    Ears not only let us hear, but they also play a role in maintaining our balance, which is vital to our ability to function in daily life. Yet, we ignore them. We can't even see our ears, except in a mirror. We take it for granted what they do for us day in and day out—until we notice something wrong, such as when an earache strikes or when we start having to ask people to repeat what they say.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    ◆Clean your ear with a washcloth—covered finger only.

     Never put anything inside your ear canal, including cotton swabs(药签).{#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    ◆Leave earwax(耳垢)alone.

    Wax is your ear's way of eliminating(消除)anything foreign that gets into the ear canal.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}If you find you have too much earwax, use a few drops of earwax remover in the canal. After a few minutes, wash the ear with warm water.

    ◆Avoid noisy places.

    Rock concerts and construction sites are just a few places that frequently have noise levels that can damage hearing. Any place where you have to shout to be heard should be avoided.

    ◆{#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    Be careful not to play MP3 too loud, especially if using earphone.

    ◆Be careful with illness and medications.

    Respiratory(呼吸的)illnesses should be treated to avoid their spread to the ears. Certain medications can damage hearing, so follow the directions carefully before taking them.

    See your doctor if you suffer from sudden hearing loss or hear noises in your head.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}

A. Turn the volume(音量) down.

B. Avoid using earphones while listening to MP3.

C. In such case, go to see a doctor as soon as possible.

D. This article will show you how to care for your ears.

E. Most people don't need to clean wax out of their ears.

F. Your ear canal is very narrow and a swab can damage it.

    Snowblind—it's a frightening word. Thankfully, it's a condition that is totally preventable.

    Snow blindness is a painful, temporary loss of vision due to overexposure to the sun's UV rays. Essentially, snow blindness is caused by a sunburned eye.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Though it is commonly called snow blindness, the condition can (and often does) occur in the absence of snow.

    The terms “snowblind” and “snow blindness” have become popular because snow is highly reflective of ultraviolet radiation.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Also, skiing, mountain climbing and snowboarding usually take place at relatively high altitudes, where the sun's UV rays are stronger. Combined, these factors can double your risk of getting sunburned eyes, compared with being outdoors at lower altitudes in the summertime.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Television journalist Anderson Cooper experienced snow-free snow blindness first-hand a few years ago when he spent a couple hours on a boat in Portugal without sunglasses and ended up “blind for 36 hours,” according to his report of the incident.

    Not only can you become snowblind without snow—it can happen without sunlight, too!{#blank#}4{#/blank#} For example, sun lamps can cause temporary “snow” blindness if proper eye protection is not used.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#} To relieve pain or discomfort from snow blindness, stay indoors and wear sunglasses. Keep your eyes well-moistened with artificial tears. For additional relief, use over-the-counter pain relievers. Be sure to use only pain relievers you know you can take without worry of an allergic reaction. You also may find that placing a cool, dampened washcloth over your closed eyelids is comforting.

A. You don't need snow to become snowblind.

B. It will likely affect those traveling in snowy conditions.

C. To prevent snow blindness on the slopes, wear sunglasses.

D. Sometimes it occurs from mail-made sources of ultraviolet radiation

E. In fact, snow can reflect over 80 percent of the UV rays that fall upon it.

F. Snow blindness is scary, but usually it's temporary, and there are ways to relieve the discomfort.

G. But water and white sand also are highly reflective of the sun's UV rays, thus increasing the risk.

    Here are five tips for being a good friend.

    Listen more than you speak. Next time you ask a question, wait for the answer. Let the person tell the full story, and explain his complete answer.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    Keep your promises. There's nothing worse than the type of friend who leaves you hanging. Whether it's a friend get-together or meeting at the mall, they always manage to break their promises and leave you feeling upset and disappointed. This is the reason why an important part of strong friendships is the ability to trust each other.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Therefore, next time you make a promise, keep it.

    Give advice, but only when it is asked for. By offering advice when it's not asked for, you're ignoring the needs of your friend.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}Otherwise, don't give it. Be with them, hug(拥抱)them and make them breakfast in bed, but keep your wisdom to yourself and save it for another time.

    Let your friend have other friends, too. If your best friend picks another friend over you, try to be friends with their friends too. Maybe you guys can be a group of friends!

    Everyone is always looking for new friends.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Your loyalty(忠诚)to friendship is what the other person expects and counts on every day.

    {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  Everyone has their own faults, and they need to work through them. Don't be bad to your friend about his or her faults, but help him or her work through them while asking for help on your own as well.

A. Remember that no one is perfect.
B. But never, ever leave the old one.

C. If they want your advice, they will ask for it.

D. You are who you are, and your best friend will accept that. E. Never leave the problem alone and pretend it doesn't exist.

F. And then, when you feel that your words can add value, speak.

G. And part of this trust can only be developed if you can keep your word.

Teamwork Doubles the Strength

Admittedly, teamwork is literally important for any class or team to achieve its goals and objectives. Let me give three reasons why it is advantageous.

As individuals, we possess diverse talents, strengths, weaknesses and experiences. A team is just like a tapestry(织锦) that weaves what each of us possesses, resulting in an end product that is diverse yet homogenous(同种类的). As team members exchange thoughts and experiences, there can be more efficiency and effectiveness at problem-solving. This pooling of talents can also lead to greater innovation and success. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. It won the Premier League in 2016, to the utter disbelief of many soccer fans. Leicester City, previousl regarded as the underdog of the League, displayed extremely impressive teamwork, which led to its unbelievable victory in soccer history.

Next, teamwork means members share the workload. When work is distributed and each of us in a team specializes in specific tasks, the stress on each of us is reduced and the completion of tasks before deadline is ensured: {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

 {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. Team members learn from more experienced members who may offer deeper insights and perspectives. Newer members may also contribute new ideas. Besides encouraging the sharing of knowledge and experiences, teamwork also develops soft skills like communication and interpersonal skills. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}.

Some may think that working in isolation(单独) is more efficient since more time is taken when cooperating with others. For more talented individuals, working alone means being the star of a project. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. But, the loss of synergy(协同作用) that only team effort can generate may also prevent the team from reaching its full potential.

A.Take Leicester City for example

B.Thus we can expect greater job satisfaction

C.Team members can also be divided in opinions

D.They don't need to share the success with others

E.Let's not wave away the chance to work in teams

F.And finally working in a team multiplies learning opportunities

G.We learn to respect differences in working styles and opinions, and develop trust
