Recently, I've found many old photos of Mom, Dad, David, me and my first dog Coco. They meant a lot to me. I wondered how to keep them forever. Luckily, my son used a new app to clear up and improve some of the old photos. Looking at them brought back so many loving and happy memories. I even used one as my computer screen saver(屏保).

It is a picture of me sitting in my favorite chair,across from the wood stove(炉子) next to a bookcase full of old books. I am wearing my special Snoopy shirt and hugging Coco. There is a big smile on my face and a joyful shining light in my eyes. It was how I spent a lot of my winter afternoons as a girl, hugging Coco and reading an old book.

It is surprising how 60 years later that girl still lives inside of me. I still love comfortable chairs, warm stoves, Snoopy clothes, hugging dogs and reading books on cold winter days. But when I look in the mirror now, all I see is a thin face, grey hair, and lots of wrinkles(皱纹). The only thing that hasn't completely changed is the eyes. They are hiding behind glasses now and full of wisdom(智慧) given by ages. But they still have that same joyful shining light.

Looking at the little girl smiling at me from the computer screen and that 66-year-old woman looking back at me in the mirror can be a little bit strange at times. They look so different. However, they are both me. We can't stop getting older, but we can remain both joyful and young at heart forever.

May 10th is Meg's birthday. She gets a gift. It is a new jacket from her sister. The jacket is very beautiful and she is very happy. 

One day，Meg finds a button（纽扣）of her jacket is lost. She looks for the button everywhere，but she can't find it. The next day，she doesn't wear（穿）that jacket to school and is unhappy all day. After school，she goes to the clothes stores and wants to buy that kind of clothes. But she is disappointed. 

Meg tells her sister about that，her sister says，"We can change all the buttons. Then the buttons will be the same. "The jacket is nice again and Meg is happy again. 

Shailyn Ryan is a 9- year- old girl from Massachusetts. That day, during lunch in the school dining hall, she noticed1 unexpected happening. Her friend Keira held a hand to her own throat without a word. Her face rapidly turned red, then blue. Though Keira was unable to 2 , Shailyn knew she was choking（噎住）.

Immediately, Shailyn jumped from her seat and stood behind Keira. She pushed Keira a bit forward, put her arms 3 Keira's waist（腰部）, then pressed as hard as she could.

It wasn't long before a hot dog piece popped（突然弹出）up from Keira's throat. Thanks to her 4 action, Keira was free to breathe again.

"I didn't really think about it—I just did it," said Shailyn. "I wasn't 5 at all, and I knew that I had to do something fast, so I did." And she did it just right.

The most6 part of the story is that Shailyn knew the Heimlich maneuver（海姆立克操作法）just for less than 24 hours. Only the night before, she attended "Home Alone" kids 7 class. At the class, she and several other children learnt basic first aid and practised 8 to do the Heimlich maneuver on each other. Clearly, Shailyn was a really fast 9 ! She was able to take what she'd learnt the night before and 10 it in real life.

A few days later, Shailyn was given an award by the school master Jill Barnhardt. "We're sure to 11 Shailyn for her actions in such situation," Barnhardt said. "Shailyn took actions 12 . Her response to her friend's suffering was effective. She is simply a 13 ."

Shailyn was also excited to get a personal tour of a hospital 14 she dreamed of becoming a doctor. "I want to 15 more people," she said. "That would be cool to work in a hospital."

In May, 16-year-old Alktur Dibat became the youngest Chinese climber to reach the top of Qomolangma (珠穆朗姆峰) . 

The boy is from Urumqi, Xinjiang.  He arrived at the South Base Camp in Nepal on April 15.  He spent 28 days getting used to (习惯) the new place and then started his climb with about 10 other good climbers. 

On May 19, Alktur finally reached the top of the world, breaking the record set last year by Xu Zhuoyuan, a girl from Hunan.  Reaching the top of Qomolangma is my biggest dream.  I feel very happy that I made my dream come true, Alktur said.  During his climb, he sometimes felt terrible, but it didn't stop him from keeping going. 

Alktur is a student at Urumqi No.  13 Middle School.  He started to learn rock climbing at 7, skiing at 8, and ice climbing at 9.  He climbed his first mountain with his father when he was 10.  In July last year, they climbed a high mountain called Muzta Ata in Xinjiang.  In February this year, Alktur climbed Siguni Mountain in Sichuan. 

To climb Qomolangma, Alktur ran 10 kilometers every morning and took special training classes on weekends.  He also took a training class organized by the Chinese Mountaineering Association. 

Alktur now wants to climb the other highest mountains.  He loves the feeling of climbing and wants to keep trying.
