It is Sunday today. Ann is shopping with her mother. She wants her mother to buy a sweater for her.

In a clothes shop, she finds an orange one. She tries it on, but it's too small. She wants a bigger one, but the bigger ones are not orange. Ann doesn't like other colours. Her mother asks, "Shall we go to another shop to have a look?" So they go out of this shop and go into another.

      The second shop is much bigger than the first, and in it there are many kinds of sweaters of different sizes and colours. Ann tries on an orange one. It's too big. She tries a smaller one. It's OK.

“How much is it?” Ann's mother asks the woman who sells clothes.

      Then they find it too expensive, and they don't have so much money with them.

    “Would you like a cheaper one?” The woman asks.

    “No, we shall take this one. My daughter likes it. We shall come back to buy tomorrow.” Ann's mother answers.

      After that, they leave the shop to buy some other things.

    I live on the twelfth floor of a building. One afternoon I was coming home from a friend's house. It was just after four o'clock. I got quickly into the lift and pressed Button(按钮)13.

    The lift started to go up, but very slowly. And then, halfway up, it suddenly stopped between two floors. I couldn't understand it. I pressed all the buttons from 1 to 14.I called for help very loudly. But nobody answered.

    Then suddenly the lights went out, and I was alone in the dark. I started to cry and beat the walls of the lift. I cried and cried until I had no voice left. Then, I felt hopeless, and pressed all the buttons with my hands. And at the same time, there was a bell far away. It rang and rang. It was the fire alarm. I thought the whole building was on fire. I said to God quietly, "Just get me out of here. I'll never be bad again."

    Just then, I realized the lift was moving very slowly. On the ground floor it stopped, and the door opened. A man was standing there. "How long have you been there? It is good that you pressed the alarm bell. But haven't you learned to read at your school?" He pointed at a small piece of paper on the wall beside the lift. It said:

    "Attention: This lift will be stopped for repairs between 4 p.m. and 5p.m. on Thursday, March 13."

    Tony{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(watch) a basketball match{#blank#}2{#/blank#}TV last night. It started at eleven forty-five. He didn't go to bed until it{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(finish) When he got up this morning, it{#blank#}4{#/blank#}half past six. He{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(run) to the bus stop{#blank#}6{#/blank#}having breakfast. A lot of people were waiting{#blank#}7{#/blank#}the bus when he got there. Just then a bus came and he went to jump the queue (队). An old woman{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(see) him and stopped him. He said he was afraid{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(be) late for school. The old woman{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(tell) him to take her place and he thanked her.

A kind of Happiness in Rongjiang—Watching "Cun Chao"

Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, there was1 old farmer. He loved money very much. He kept a lot of gold coins but 2 used them. He 3 not give them to others. He put them into an 4 box and put it in the ground. He came to the5 every day to look at it. This made him happy,6 , when he came to the place, he could not 7 the box. He became very, very sad. He began to cry.8 a man came to him and said, "Don't cry. Put a stone in the ground instead, and 9 it is a box of gold coins. A stone will be 10 the same, because when coins were there, you never used them."

This morning, I went camping along a path in Green Natural Park with my friends. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We were expecting an enjoyable two- day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes. 

However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o'clock, it was dark and windy.  Soon there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide. 

Twenty minutes passed and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we could reach the campsite (野营地). It was even worse that our small compass showed that we went the wrong way. We lost our way!

We had to make a quick decision as it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up a tent to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we were unable to light the fire,  ▲ . We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o'clock, it stopped raining. We decided to give up the camping trip because all of us were very tired. 

This camping trip may not be very successful but we have got to know each other better. And the most important thing I've learned from this trip is the importance of teamwork.
