When I was 19 years old, I worked in a doctor's office as a medical assistant. I was shy and didn't 1  myself, so I  2 talked with others.  I was uncertain about my future.

    I met a doctor there and became good friends with him. He 3 me to believe in myself and asked me to learn to communicate with others. He helped me accept 4 , and then he encouraged me to5 one or two college classes. I did as what he told me and did very well.

    One day, he asked me where I wanted to go ten years later and 61 wanted my life to be like. I hadn't thought about this before that day. That night I 7 thought about the two questions. It was he that made me 8a different world.

    Later, I went to college and realized my9was to be accepted into a physician assistant training program. Unluckily, it was very 10and I couldn't afford it, I wanted to 11. When my dream was about to slip away, this wonderful man took me out one evening into a bar, bought me a bottle of beer, and offered to help me pay for my college education. He did it 12 asking for anything in return.

    A few years later, I asked him why he helped me. He said," 13 I knew you could be more than what you were, and because once, when I wasn't sure whether I could succeed and didn't have the money for school, 14 helped me."

    After hearing his words, I was shocked. I said, "Thank you, Joe! I will 15 the love to others!"

    "I have lots of dreams," said Laurie. He lay down and looked up at the sky.

    "Tell us about your favorite one, Laurie," Meg said.

    "Only if you tell me about 1," the boy replied.

    The girls agreed, so Laurie began.

    "I want to travel around the world and 2 lots of places. Then I'd like to become a famous musician. 3 wants me to be a businessman like him. But I don't 4 money or business. I just want to enjoy myself."

    "5 don't you get on a ship and sail away?" said Jo.

    "No, Jo," said Meg quickly.

    "That isn't right. Laurie, you must do what your grandfather wants. He loves you."

     "Perhaps you are right, Meg," Laurie said. "My grandfather is old and he doesn't have 6 else. He only has me. Tell us about your favorite dream, Meg!"

    "I'd like a lovely house, 7 of all kinds of nice things — good food, pretty clothes and 8 furniture," Meg said." And lots of money, of course. I'd also like to help people."

    "And what about a 9 and some beautiful children in your lovely house?" said Jo, laughing. Meg looked at Laurie and her face 10 red.

    "I suppose you want horses and books in your house, Jo!" she replied.

    "You're right! Lots of Arabian 11 and rooms full of books," said Jo. "I want to 12 books and be a rich and famous writer. That's my favorite 13. And yours, Beth?"

    "I dream about staying at home with Father and Mother and looking after the family. I don't want anything else." said Beth 14.

    "My favorite dream is to be a(n) 15. I want to paint wonderful pictures." said Amy.

    "Let's meet again in ten years and see how many of us have got our wishes," said Jo.

I have six classes every Friday. When my last class{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(finish), I walk out of the school and go to the bus stop like what I do every day. All the things are as usual（像平常一样）.

The bus comes{#blank#}2{#/blank#}3:10 pm. I get on（上车） the bus and pay（付费）with my card. There are not so{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(much) people on the bus. I{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(quick) find a seat（座位）. People on the bus all play with their phones. So I always think it's boring{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(take) the bus. I can only sit there and look at the cars. After four {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (minute)，a woman and a boy get on the bus. At first, I don't know who gets on. But soon, the bus is noisy（吵闹的） because of them. "Are they mother and son？" I think.

"I tell you not{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(leave) your card at home. What can you do now？How can you pay for the bus ride?" the woman only asks her son questions{#blank#}8{#/blank#}she doesn't want to help him. The boy says, "I see. I know I don't take my card. But now the{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(one) thing is to pay for the bus ride." Then the bus driver asks them to pay for it soon. "I don't have change（零钱）. So I ask you to take your card…" the woman says{#blank#}10{#/blank#}same things again（再一次）.

"I'll pay for you，" I stop their talk and walk to the boy. "It's OK." I say.

I get lots of thanks today. Helping others makes me happy.

My best friend is Jenny. There are a lot of rules in her family. She has to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(get) up at 6:00 in the morning. She mustn't leave the dirty {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (dish) in the kitchen. After dinner, she must read a book before {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (watch)TV. She knows her parents are strict but they make rules to help her. So she is happy to follow {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (they).

To study English well, Jenny {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (go) to an English club last year. She spent two hours {#blank#}6{#/blank#} her spoken English(英语口语) with her new friends every day there. What's more, she {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (read) English loudly (大声地) in the morning. Now Jenny is confident(自信的) and does {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (good) in speaking English. Listen! Jenny is singing {#blank#}9{#/blank#} English song in front of her classmates. How beautiful! 

Everybody is smiling and applauding(鼓掌){#blank#}10{#/blank#}her!

Daisy forgot to set the alarm clock (闹钟) so she had to run to catch the bus. This made her feel tired and rushed when she started her science test. After she handed in her test paper, she was certain that the test had not gone well. With a heavy heart, she left the classroom.

That afternoon, Daisy left school to work part-time at Beckman's. After she finished her work, Mrs. Beckman called her into the office. "Daisy," she said, "you have been a great worker. But business has been slow; we have to let you go."

Feeling down, Daisy left the office. As she walked slowly towards her aunt's house, she tried to think about the new hairstyle her aunt had promised her. When she arrived, Daisy showed her aunt a picture of the style she wanted.

"Well, you're done. What do you think?" Her aunt asked about an hour later.

What Daisy saw in the mirror left her speechless. It was nothing like the picture! How could she possibly go to school again?

The next morning, putting her things in her locker, she ran into Ms. Wilson, her science teacher.

"I know, Ms. Wilson, I did very poorly on the test. It's just that I forgot…"

"What are you talking about? Daisy, you did a great job!" Ms. Wilson said. "What I wanted to ask you is if you would be interested in working a few days a week after school as a lab assistant (助手). I need some help organizing all the materials." Daisy happily accepted.

"Daisy!" she heard as the rest of the students began to enter the building. "Where did you get your hair done?" She was so excited about her test and new job that she had completely forgotten about her hair.

"Wow! That is so cool!" she was told. She couldn't believe her ears. Everyone loved her hair.

What a couple of days it had been! Walking home, she smiled as the radio of a passing car played the song "What a Difference a Day Makes".

 When Suansuan first rend Peach Blossom Shangri- la(《桃花源记》) in her high school Chinese textbook. she didn't think too much about it.

 One day in college, she remembered the article again. After studying more about it, she found something interesting behind the 320- word text. For example, the Peach Blossom Shangri- la not only appears in Tao Yuanming's article, but also in many poems, paintings and plays. The fisherman in the text doesn't have a name, for he is a symbol of a special group of people— the hermits(隐士). Usually for some reasons, they live a very simple life alone and do not meet or talk to other people.

 The simple text became much more fun and attractive(吸引人的) to Suansuan. She wants to share her ideas with more people by making videos. To better present her ideas, she paints in her videos. For a video about 10 minutes in length, she may draw up to 80 paintings.

 Starting in May 2019, she has made more than 50 videos. Seven are about the hidden stories behind some texts in Chinese textbooks. The rest are about learning methods and other works.

 These have won her more than 1.5 million fans on Bilibili, many of whom are teenagers. They have left bullet comments(弹幕) and messages of thanks. They say she has made their school life more interesting.

 Suansuan says the two things that bring her the most happiness are learning and creating. Making videos combines(结合) both. So she will keep doing it.
