Today, I am very happy to have a meeting with you. At the meeting we will talk about the 1 we have these days. We all know the problems of 2 and the objects falling from windows are getting worse. We have received lots of letters about such problems. So   3 is time for possible ways to work out these problems.

    Some dog owners don't take care of their dogs well enough, and they let their dogs make mess on the roads and in gardens. This makes the environment 4. I would like to tell the dog owners that their behavior is too b ad, and at the same time they are making people 5 unhappy. We should keep the environment 6.

    It is reported that some people 7 rubbish out of the windows. It is dangerous because falling objects 8 hurt others. It is against the law. We should put up a notice to teach people not to do so. If it is found, we will record the names and address of those people who throw objects. Then, a warning will be given and 9 will be punished by law.

    A safe and comfortable living environment is important to us. 10 we try our best to care for our community, it will be a good place to live in. Thank you for your coming.

When man began to search the skies, he saw a lot of things. In the universe, the earth seemed to be just a small bit of dust. It is only a small planet, and travels around the sun. The sun together with its planets, travels in the Milky Way（银河）, our galaxy（星系）. The Milky way has about thirty billion stars like our sun, and is one of about a hundred million galaxies in the universe. Because the space is so great, it is difficult to work out how far away a star is. Instead of kilometers, we have light years. A light year means the distance light travels in one year. Our nearest neighbour galaxy is more than 9,000,000 light years away from the earth.

    Living on Earth is like living in a terrarium (玻璃容器). All the water on 1 has always been here. The water never goes away and new water is never created. You might say the water is 2. Yes. Water changes its form as it moves through the 3 cycle, from liquid (液体) to solid, then to gas. The cycle happens all over again and again. The water cycle 4 to purify (净化) the water. However, once the soil and air are polluted, it is harder for the water to get clean.

    More than 70％ of the human body is water. Next to oxygen, water is the most 5 part of our life. We drink water. We bathe and shower in water. Each person 6 about 70 gallons of water each day.

    Out of all the water on Earth only 1％ is flesh water. We can all help protect water by doing things like 7 the tap when we brush our teeth.

    Water can get polluted by many different things. Sometimes it 8 when people are careless with the chemicals. Every year thousands of people get sick from 9 water. So everyone must work together to 10 water clean. Our lives depend on it!

    There are many ways for us to reduce waste. For 1, we can reuse paper and plastic bags. We can also recycle newspapers, glass, and cans to2 new things. Here are some 3 ways to reduce waste.

Write on 4 sides of paper.

    Many people write on only one side of their paper. Why not stop 5the other side? Some students only use half the pages of their notebooks before getting new ones. Try to use up all the paper. People often give cards on birthdays or festivals. How about trying to 6 e-cards instead?

Don't throw away your old batteries (电池).

    Maybe you do not know that old batteries make the earth dirty. This is 7  they have poisonous parts in them. So, don't throw away batteries. Keep them together. Try to use rechargeable (充电的) batteries for your games and CD players.

    Give off all your unwanted clothes.

    There are many poor families in China. You may ask your mother to 8 your unwanted(多余的) 9. Then you can pass them on to those poor children. You will feel 10that you are helping someone else. Also, you can understand if your friends or relatives (亲戚) want them before throwing them away.
