Last week, I took a part in an English speech contest. There are twelve students in the final contest. I was one of the lucky student. Fifteen minutes after my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front all the judges and students, I was extreme nervous. Then I took a deep breath to relax me and started my speech. The result was not good, because I regarded it as a challenge, which process was the most important.

    Having learnt a lot from the contest, I am sure I will do it much well next time.

    I woke up lately yesterday because my alarm clock didn't ring. With no time for the breakfast, I rushed out of my house. I had intended to catch the 7:30 subway, and I didn't make it.     Yesterday morning I was on my way to work. Suddenly I stopped by a woman on the sidewalk. She asked me if I knew how to get to CASS, that is a local shelter for the homeless. I could tell she was extreme upset, so I told her I'd look it up for her on my smartphones. While waiting, she told the she was losing and didn't have money for the bus. I took out of a 20-dollar bill from my purse but handed it to her. Then I accompany her to the nearest bus stop. See the happy smile on her face brightened up my day, either.

    I'm writing to ask you the favor. To help us students have a better understand of American culture, the Student Union is now organized an American Culture Festival. We're now bad in need of several American popular magazine that can reflect modern American life. So, could you please help buy some or send them to us? We will cover all the relevant to costs. Also, we would appreciate if you could see to it that the contests of the magazines were suitable for Chinese middle school students.
