I like school days. I can learn many things from school. We have four classes in the morning and two in the afternoon. I like weekends, too. We don't go to school on Saturdays and Sundays. I often play ping-pong and play basketball on Saturday morning. I often play the violin (小提琴) on Saturday afternoon. I often do homework and play football on Sunday morning. I often go to the park on Sunday afternoon.

    The following three students are writing letters to the school office.

    Our lunchtime is short. Many of us have some schoolwork to do after lunch. But if we don't get a good rest, we can't have enough(足够的) energy for the afternoon. So we want to have more time to take a nap after lunch.

Wang Yang (boy, 13)

    Food in our dining hall is not nice at all. There is always pork, tofu and potatoes. The soup is never hot. I like pork, tofu and potatoes. But why do we have them every day? And why can't we have hot soup?

Wu Xiaofang (girl, 13)

    All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! We want more time for sports, but there are only thirty minutes for us to do sports every day. I think school should finish before 4 pm every day and then we can go to the playground to do sports.

Dai Huimin (boy, 14)

    Li Lei is in Grade Five. His school is near his home, so he walks to school every day. After school he often plays football with his friends. At the weekend, he usually visits his grandparents. They live in the country. They have a big yard and a small vegetable garden. They have three goats and twenty-one ducks. The ducks like swimming in the river. They plant tomatoes and cucumbers. Look! Li Lei is feeding the goats. He is very happy!

Ben: Janet, may I use your eraser?

Janet: Sure. Here you are.

Ben: Oh, your eraser is yellow. It's so cute.

Janet: Thank you. Where is your eraser?

Ben: I don't know. It isn't in my pencil box.

Janet: Is it in your bag?

Ben: No, it isn't in my bag.

Janet: Look, your eraser is under the chair.

Ben: Oh, silly me. Thanks.

Janet: What colour is your eraser?

Ben: Look, it's blue and white.

    There is a new park near my house. It's a fine day today. My family and I are in the park now. On my left, there is a cafe(咖啡馆). On my right, there is a big lake. There are many flowers and trees near the lake. There's a small hill behind the lake. Beside the lake, there is a sign. It says, “You mustn't swim in the lake！”There is a playground in the middle of (在……中间)the park. Next to the gate(大门) there is a small toy shop. The park is so beautiful. We like it very much.

Mr. White and Mrs. White are teachers. They have a son and a daughter, Tim and Mary. Tim is seven years old and Mary is fifteen years old. The Whites visited their relatives from 8 a. m. to 7 p. m. yesterday. Later they saw a film together and then went home at half past nine.
