The popularity of ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River, such as Zhouzhuang and Wuzhen, has aroused a nationwide trend in the construction of ancient towns. Lin Peng, the director of China's Institute of Ancient Cities and Cultural Studies, pointed {#blank#}1{#/blank#} that there are more than 2,800 developed or developing ancient towns in our country, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} is definitely the highest number globally.

In ancient towns, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} immersive（沉浸式） experience being mentioned here is historical and cultural characteristics—the "ancient" of ancient towns. Apart from visible "special buildings", characteristics also include invisible "culture". Tourists in ancient towns want to see the living {#blank#}4{#/blank#} （condition） of local people, feel the vitality of town life, try characteristic local snacks {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （influence） by geography and folk customs, and understand how long history {#blank#}6{#/blank#} （shape） local culture. Out of modern fast-paced work and life, tourists want to awaken their inner softness with a slow-moving ancient town.

The Chinese Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu is often called the sage(圣人) of poetry. Unlike Li Bai, this poet wrote in various styles, and his works were often innovative(创新的) in language and subject matter. His poems were also filled with meaning. 

His innovation was not at all welcome. The readers of his time rarely showed much appreciation of his original and innovative works. The masses in fact hated and scolded them. Like many artists, Du Fu was only recognised for his genius long after his death. 

Du Fu was born in Luoyang, Henan Province. Although he came from an influential literary family, his early attempts to gain a position in the government by way of the exam system failed repeatedly. He was 43 years old when he finally managed to hold an official position. This was the time when Emperor Xuanzong was attracted to the beautiful Yang Yuhuan and made her his concubine(妃子), which Du Fu severely criticised in his Song of the Beautiful Ladies. 

As the emperor got distracted from important government affairs, some military leaders were becoming too powerful. Du Fu took office in 755, and in the same year a rebel(叛乱) leader An Lushan led his army into the capital of Tang Dynasty. The emperor fled to the west and left the governing of the state to his son. Du Fu and his family took the road north to escape the rebels. 

The poet left his family and tried to get to the headquarters of the new emperor, but he was caught and held prisoner by the rebels in Chang'an. After order was restored again, Du Fu got back his position in the capital. However, he did not enjoy the favour of the new emperor and was given a minor provincial post. In 759 he finally left this disgraceful position and spent the rest of his life wandering around the country. 

Here is a story about social media bringing people together.56-year-old Lucy Shepherd was 1 as an infant (婴儿) in the early 1960s. When she turned 18, Lucy 2 to look for her birth parents. She managed to find her mother ten years later. However, finding her father proved to be more 3 .

A few notable moments from my most recent volunteering at the Children's Hospital never escape me.

After we had 1 with the nurses, Dr. Tiny and I went to our first room, inside which were a mother and a two-year-old boy. This young boy was 2 on the bed, jumping up and down. Mom looked at us with a sense of expectation and curiosity. She was trying to calm her son, but she couldn't. Dr. Tiny 3 his tool and waved it through the air creating bubbles (肥皂泡) in front of the child. I had a 4 with me. I started to play gentle, 5 music. As we did this, the young boy watched the bubbles with his eyes, and began to rock 6 gently to the music. He slowly reached out his hand to 7 the bubbles. We glanced over at the mom and noticed that she, too, had become 8 .

Later, we walked into another room at the Emergency Department. The patient was a teenage boy who had met with a terrible 9 , leaving him unable to sit up. 10 , he could raise his head with 11 to see us as we entered the room. He saw our guitar. "Play me a song," he said, "The Red Nose Reindeer."

I quickly adjusted my guitar, 12 my throat, and began to sing, "Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way…" The patient looked up with a look of 13 . With a smile, he said, "Play The Red Nose Reindeer, please!" Dr. Tiny looked at me and said, "You are starting to embarrass us." I glanced at Dr. Tiny and the patient, 14 for getting it wrong I began to sing again. As Dr. Tiny and I sang the song, the patient sang along and laughed. "That was a good one!" he shouted 15 .
