China is a big country. The weather in the north is quite different from {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in the south. My hometown is Changchun. It's a beautiful city in the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} of China. In the city, the spring is warm, the summer is {#blank#}3{#/blank#} , the autumn is cool and the winter is{#blank#}4{#/blank#} In the winter, people can {#blank#}5{#/blank#} snowmen and play{#blank#}6{#/blank#} snowballs. People can also go{#blank#}7{#/blank#} and skiing. They usually spend a(n) {#blank#}8{#/blank#} winter. Now many people in the south and even some {#blank#}9{#/blank#} come to the north of China to see the {#blank#}10{#/blank#} in the winter.

The food in the UK is very different from our Chinese food. They eat a lot of{#blank#}1{#/blank#} . And they like to eat them every day. They eat bread for breakfast{#blank#}2{#/blank#} butter ,cheese（乳酪）, jam（果酱）or{#blank#}3{#/blank#} things. We often eat these things very much in{#blank#}4{#/blank#} . Cheese and butter are made from milk. They drink {#blank#}5{#/blank#} milk, too. They don't drink hot milk but cold milk, and they put it in{#blank#}6{#/blank#} tea. The UK is the{#blank#}7{#/blank#} biggest tea drinker. They don't eat{#blank#}8{#/blank#} rice. For their dinner they like meat or fish with potatoes and vegetables. And they_{#blank#}9{#/blank#} eat something sweet after dinner. They call this dessert（甜点心）. They don't have {#blank#}10{#/blank#} .

Do you know Fu Niu Lele? It is the mascot (吉祥物) {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games (残奥会). {#blank#}2{#/blank#} can it be the mascot? Because in Chinese culture，cattle (牛) are hardworking, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} and brave(勇敢的). The mascot of cattle is a {#blank#}4{#/blank#} of Chinese people. It also {#blank#}5{#/blank#} for the harmony (和谐) between people and the environment. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the mascot shows disabled (残疾的) players are very strong. It also sends Chinese people's best {#blank#}7{#/blank#} to all disabled people around the world.

    Beijing successfully (成功地) held the Paralympics {#blank#}8{#/blank#} September 6th to 17^th in 2008. Many players from all over the world {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the games. There were 20 different kinds of sports for them. Our country tried its best {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the Paralympics best.

Oliver Twist

Oliver Twist is a famous novel {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(写) by Charles Dickens. It mainly talks about the boy named Oliver Twist. His parents {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（死）, he has to grow up with many poor {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (陌生人). One day, when nobody pays {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(关注) to him, he runs away in a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (仓促) to London. In Fagin's house, Oliver also meets some good partners who really care about him.     Emma is very busy in the moming. She gets up at half past five. After brushing her teeth, she {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. She usually does sports for thirty minutes. Next, she helps to make breakfast. At half past six, she eats breakfast. For breakfast Emma usually has bread and milk. She{#blank#}2{#/blank#} eats hamburgers. Hamburgers are unhealthy. Emma needs a healthy {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. After breakfast she{#blank#}4{#/blank#} her room. Then she goes to school. Emma usually{#blank#}5{#/blank#}to school. She says walking is good for her.

    Judy is one of the best students in her class. She often gets up {#blank#}1{#/blank#} at about 6:30 a.m. Then she washes her face and brushes her teeth. At 7 a.m., she has {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. She often eats some bread and drinks a glass of milk. After that, she usually takes {#blank#}3{#/blank#} shower and gets dressed.

    Judy's home is not {#blank#}4{#/blank#} from the school so she always walks to school at 7:30 a.m. She is never late for school. She has classes from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Her favorite {#blank#}5{#/blank#} is science.

    After school, she usually plays basketball with her friends {#blank#}6{#/blank#} half an hour. On Thursday afternoon, she sometimes joins the Chinese club to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} some English- speaking students with their Chinese. It is relaxing and interesting for her. She thinks it is {#blank#}8{#/blank#} good for her English. She usually gets home at 4:45 p.m. Judy has dinner at 6:30 p.m. She hardly ever {#blank#}9{#/blank#} TV in the evening on weekdays {#blank#}10{#/blank#}she has too much homework. But she can do it on weekends. At the end of the day, she always goes to bed at 9 p.m. What a busy day she has!
