    Mary has been award the title of “Star Student of the Week” for what she did for our class. In the hot afternoon of last Saturday, Mary went downtown and walked from one store to another, looked for the costumes we would wear in the singing contest. While the rest of us were enjoying our leisure times in comfortable classrooms, she spent the whole afternoon searching for and selecting. Finally, she finds the right clothes.     Living without an aim is like sailing without compass. If there is no aim, we will get lose. Last term, I couldn't accept the truth which I failed in my math examination. I decided to give it up, so I skipped from classes frequently. Considered my case, my teacher offered me several detailed approach and advised me to set a short-term goal to improve my math. Finally, I work harder than ever and made great progress in her math. In my opinion, success lies in a series of goals.     I'd like tell you something about your life in this boarding school. I stay in a dormitory with three other girls，all of them are kind and nice. We get on well to others and have become good friends．Living in a boarding school make me independent.     Thank you for your concern. Well, I'm now taking the once-a-year college entrance examination. Dear Editor,

    I'm the only daughter of my parents. So they worried about everything I do. For example, when I ride my bike, my parents won't let me ride by myself. They are afraid of I might fall off my bike and hurt myself. Instead, they are taking great trouble to support a bike, with my mother even carrying a first-aid box. I'm not free to ride and I often say angry, 'Why not let me ride alone?' Now, most family have one child. Parents want to do everything for his children. This does no good on them. Too much love from parents may prevent children from become independent. In my opinion, parents should let their children do that they should do alone.

    Last Saturday, I wanted very much to see a film together with my brother after supper. On my way to the cinema, we happen to meet an American named Peter, who had lost his way, looked worried. When he told us what he wasn't able to find the hotel, we decided take him there. When we went to the hotel, we told of Peter the great changes that had taken place in our country in the past few year, and he told us a lot of things about the youths in the U.S.A.
