Last Sunday I saw the worst storm in years. It came suddenly and went on for more than three hours. After lunch, I went into my room to have a Rest. The air was hot, and all was quiet.

    The strong wind started blowing into my room. Pieces of paper on my desk flew high into the air and some flew out of the open window. As I ran out to catch them, big drops of rain began to fall.

    When I came back into the house, it has raining harder and harder. I tried very hard to close the window. Then I heard a loud sound from the back of the house. I ran out of my room to find out what it was a big tree had fallen down and broke the top of the back room.

    Look at the boy. He's Ken. He's tall. He's thin. His hair is yellow. His eyes are big. His nose is big and long. He can smell the fish and the flowers. He can put the pencils and pens in the red bag. There are four green pencils and five red pens. They are new. They are long.

    Hello! My name is Jenny. I'm ten. I'm a student. This is my mother. She can cook. But she can't draw. She likes grapes. But she doesn't like oranges. This is my father. He can't fly. But he can swim. He likes noodles. But he doesn't like bread. This is my sister. She's three. She can sing. But she can't read. She likes ice cream. But she doesn't rice. What about me? I can read.     My name is Sally White. I am a school girl. My school is far from my home. Every day it takes long time to get there. The road is not flat. So I cannot go to school by bike. I often go there by bus or on foot. It takes me thirty minutes to get there by bus and an hour on foot. I must get up very early every morning. I have no time for breakfast at home. I often eat something for breakfast on the way. I don't want to be late for school.

Tony: Welcome to my farm.

Jacky: Wow! It's so big! Look at the horses. They are tall and fat.

Tony: Yes, they are.

Jacky: Are there any other animals on your farm?

Tony: Of course. This way. There are many hens. But they are thin now.

Jacky: Do you have goats?

Tony: Yes, I do. My favourite (最喜爱的) animals are goats. What about you?

Jacky: Sheep. I think they are very cute.

    The students of Grade One are going to have a winter camp. They are going to live together for a week. No one is going to help them. They must go shopping and do the cooking and washing themselves. On the first two days, they are going to stay in the camp. They can watch videos and play computer games and get everything ready for the next five days. On the third day, they are going to visit a modem car factory. On the fourth or fifth day, they are going to have a picnic. On the sixth day, they are going to get up early and watch the sunrise. They are going to come back on the seventh day. Some of them are coming home by train and some of them are coming back by bus.
