French artist Dufresne has turned to Chinese characters to explore art.

    His ongoing show at Yishu 8, a nonprofit and art space in Beijing, has installations (装置) on which some characters{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (paint) and visitors can play word games by moving them around to make new characters. Each Chinese character has different parts. Separating or {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (combine) these parts creates new things. For example ,the character of lin (forest), when put on the top of xi (dusk) becomes meng (dream).

    He {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ( produce) them by first asking Chinese people he met in the streets, at parks and tourist spots,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(write) different characters with ink brushes on paper, and then painted them onto large wooden boards, trying to make the characters look {#blank#}5{#/blank#} close to their original handwritten forms as possible.

    “Each character{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (vivid) reminds me of the person who wrote it. To me, the writer and the character seem to share the same personality,” says Dufresne. He sees the characters as the human body in motion. An ancient character {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (photograph) by himself at a Chinese museum appears to him like “a person walking”.

    Christine Cayol,{#blank#}8{#/blank#} is the founder of Yishu 8, says the young artist has provided “poetic viewpoint” his work by trying to create a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( connect) between Chinese characters {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the human body.

Hit by a{#blank#}9{#/blank#} of fresh air, my head ached. Just as I tried to make the necessary {#blank#}10{#/blank#}to this new situation, Wang Ping appeared.

    The Great Wall of China{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(list) in the World Cultural Heritage(世界文化遗产) by UNESCO in 1987. Just{#blank#}2{#/blank#} a huge dragon, it winds up and down across deserts grasslands and mountains, covering{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (approximate)6, 700 kilometers from the east to the west of China.

    In ancient China, many people built walls around their states to protect their land. It was Emperor Qing Shihuang who had the walls{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(join) up. The project cost much money and hundreds of thousands of people worked on{#blank#}5{#/blank#} wall. On top of it, it is wide enough for five horses or ten men{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (walk) side by side. Along the wall are watchtowers, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}soldiers used to keep watch. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections of the Great Wall are now in ruins or even disappeared. However, it is still one of the most{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (attract) spots around the world because of its wonderful buildings and historical{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(important). Many of the tourists have come to know the famous Chinese saying— "He who does not reach the Great Wall {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (be) not a true man.”

    According to Xinhua News Agency, the Palace Museum and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement on March 15. The two sides will set an example {#blank#}1{#/blank#} 5G application.

    The Palace Museum received more than 17 million visitors in 2018, {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(make) it the most visited museum in the world. In the past 20 years, an office information network covering the whole museum {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(build) gradually. The museum has developed an App that provides an in-depth {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(explain) of cultural relic information and cultural services. Also, the museum has research on the application of VR, AR, AI and other {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(technique) in museums.

    {#blank#}6{#/blank#}signing of the agreement marks a new chapter in the strategic cooperation between the Palace Museum and Huawei Technologies Co. So, Huawei will make efforts {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(accelerate) the intelligent construction of the Palace Museum.

    "The 600-year-old Palace Museum has never been so close to science and technology," Shan Jixiang said {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(proud), director of the Palace Museum.

    Shan shared many ideas about the 5G Palace Museum. With the help of advanced technology, {#blank#}9{#/blank#}is expected that in the future, audiences around the world will be able to experience and visit the Palace Museum, whether it is a field trip or a virtual tour. Also, the use of AI technology provides a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(broad) platform and stronger knowledge support for cultural relics among young people.
