As we all know, questioning can lead to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(search) for an answer. If we are in the habit of raising doubts as to{#blank#}2{#/blank#}what we are told is true, we can find the correct answer and learn more.

    Two years ago, our teacher{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (offer) us an answer to a difficult math problem in class. Although the answer seemed a little strange, nobody {#blank#}4{#/blank#}me doubted it.     From this experience, I have learned that questioning can serve as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} bridge that helps us to seek the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(true).

Rise After Falling

    A father was worried about his son, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}was sixteen years old but had no courage at all. So the father decided to call on a Buddhist monk(僧侣) to train his boy.

The Buddhist monk said to the boy's father, “I insist that your son should {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(leave) alone here. I'll make him into a real man within three months. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, you can't come to see him during this period.”

    Three months later, the boy's father {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(return). The Buddhist monk arranged a boxing match between the boy and an {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(experience) boxer. Each time the fighter struck the boy, he fell down, {#blank#}6{#/blank#}at once the boy stood up; and each time a heavy blow knocked him down, the boy stood up again. Several times later, the Buddhist monk asked, “ {#blank#}7{#/blank#}do you think of your child?”

    “What a shame!” the boy's father said, “I never thought he would be so {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(easy) knocked down. I needn't have him stay here any longer!”

    “I'm sorry that that's all you see. Don't you see that each time he {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(fall) down, he stands up again instead of {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(cry)? That's the kind of courage you wanted him to have.

    Recently researchers have found that singing in groups could have a positive impact on reducing anxiety and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (depress). The research is from the University of East Anglia in the UK, in cooperation with a community singing group {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (call) Sing Your Heart Out. A research team conducted the study {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(examine) how singing with other people affects mental health. Researchers followed a group of people {#blank#}4{#/blank#} attended free {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(week) singing workshops for six months. They discovered that singing in groups was {#blank#}6{#/blank#} essential part in helping people recover from mental illness. In addition, it helped people feel {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(little) stressed, enhanced their mood and increased their confidence, social skills and feeling of well-being.

    Lead researcher, professor Tom Shakespeare, said: "We found that singing as part of a group contributes {#blank#}8{#/blank#} people's recovery from mental health problems." He added that: "All of the participants we spoke to reported positive {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (effect) as a direct result of taking part in the singing workshops. For some, it represented one component of a wider programme of support. For others, it {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(stand) out as key to their maintenance of health."
