We go shopping on Sunday. My father likes fruits very much. We buy some bananas and red apples at the fruit shop. My mother likes to wear new clothes. She buys a new sweater and a new skirt at the clothes shop. I buy three books at the book shop. At last(最后)，we buy some tea for my grandfather in a tea shop.

    This is Mike's bedroom. It's new and nice. Today Mike's friends, Tom and Lucy are here, too. They are playing video games. Many things are on the bed. It's messy（凌乱的）. The coat is Mike's. The T-shirt and the socks are Tom's. There is a red cap. It must be Lucy's.

    The Roses（罗斯一家）like having picnics on Sundays. This Sunday they want to go to the Red Park. Jack and Mike, their sons, get up early in the morning. Jack puts on a shirt and jeans, and Mike puts on a T-shirt and jeans. They also put on their running shoes. After that they help their mother put bread, milk, eggs and some fruit in a basket and carry it to the car. Mrs Rose also takes four glasses of juice with her. The little dog Jerry is running after her. It wants to go with them, too. They are all very happy.

    It's Saturday today. It's a sunny day. John and Janet want to go to the cinema. Janet looks at her watch. "Oops! The film starts in twelve minutes.  We'll be late. We need eighteen minutes to get there. Let's run!"

     "Don't worry, Janet. I know a short cut," says John. Then John takes her a different way. They walk through the garden and out of the front gate. Suddenly they are beside the cinema. Janet looks at her watch. "I can't believe it. We have two minutes left. Thank you, John!"

    One day, Mark Twain went to a small town to give a lecture (讲座). At lunch he met a young man. The young man told him that he had an uncle. His uncle never laughed or smiled. Nobody and nothing could make his uncle smile or laugh. "You bring your uncle to my lecture tonight," said Mark Twain. "I'm sure I can make him laugh." That evening the young man and his uncle sat in the first row. Mark Twain spoke directly (直接地) at the old man. He told some funny stories. But the old man never even smiled. Mark Twain told the funniest story he knew. But the old man didn't still smile. At last Mark Twain stopped. He felt very tired and disappointed (失望的). Some days later, Mark Twain told one of his friends about what had happened. "Oh," said his friend. "I know that old man. He is deaf."
