Do you often talk with your parents? Here are some ideas on how to talk with them.

    Try to start your talk with something fun. This will make talking easier. For example, ask them questions about their day. How's the work? They love this. 

    Make it clear what you want to tell your parents. If they have some advice, let them finish and don't stop their talking. Ask them to do the same for you.  

    Show them respect(尊敬) by listening to them carefully. Look them in the eye.  

    Be honest(诚实). Honesty builds trust(信任). Life is good when your parents trust you.  

    If your parents don't understand, that's OK. It doesn't mean they don't love you. Sometimes you have to explain the things to them again.  

    When you finish the talk, thank them for listening. Say something like, "thanks, you help me a lot". It will let them know this is important to you, and you make them do it more often.  

    Perhaps you have heard a lot about the Internet, but what about it?

    The Internet is many different networks(网络) around the world. A network is a group of computers put together. These networks joined together are called Internet.

    Maybe that doesn't sound interesting. But when we've joined the Internet, there are lots of things we can do. We can have a lot of interests on the World Wide Web (WWW). We can use the Internet instead of a library to find all kinds of information for our homework. We can find information about our favorite sports or film stars and do the shopping on the Internet. We can also send messages to other people by e-mail. It is much cheaper and quicker than calling out friends or sending letters.

    Thanks to(多亏了) the Internet, the world is becoming smaller and smaller. People can now work at home with a computer in front. They can buy or sell whatever they want by the Internet. But do you know 98% of the information is in English? So what will English be like tomorrow?

    Children today stay indoors most of their time. They watch TV, play computer games and, in some cases (情况), even do their homework. Figures show that today's youngsters (年轻人) stay outside for just over an hour each weekday, and fewer than five hours on Saturdays and Sundays.

    It also shows that 58 percent of parents wish their children to play outdoors more often, and they seriously worry their child doesn't spend enough time playing outdoors.

    In fact, playing outdoors is so important for children—not only to help them stay active and healthy, but also to communicate (交流) with friends, and make those colorful childhood (童年) which we look back on so warmly.

    And because they don't go out, they don't know their own communities as well as their parents did, they don't have as many friends in the area and they don't have the same chances for fun as their parents did.

    It was cloudy in the morning. I  (决定) to go to a movie (和) my best friend.  When we  (到达) at the movie theater. We found there were many people. This theater is  （受欢迎的） in our town. It has the most  (舒适的) seats, and the workers in it are  (友好的). My friend wanted to see a comedy, she thought comedies were funny , but I  (不喜欢) comedies. In my mind, they were  (无意义的). We spent more than an hour in the theater but watched nothing. Finally, both of us felt  (饿). So we went to eat something delicious. But it was raining hard outside. Unluckily, we didn't take an  (雨伞) with us. At last, we went back to the theater and watched a boring movie. What a bad day!
