In the United States, Mother's Day is a holiday on the second Sunday in May. It is a day when children give their mothers , presents and flowers.
One of the best ways to celebrate Mother's Day is to give your mother the day off. Let her while other members of the family do the housework.
Many families begin Mother's Day with breakfast in bed. Usually dad and the children will let mum sleep late as they go into the kitchen and get ready for the favourite meal. After the food is cooked, keep everything nice on a plate. With spring here, the children can pick up the flower from the garden outside. When everything is ready, carry the plate and mum's favourite books or newspapers up to her bedroom.
Many families take mum out to her favourite restaurant for a meal. It's a good day to let her see what a family she has.

Welcome to the Science Museum. My name is Mrs. White and I will be you guide today. If you have any questions at any time, please don't be afraid to 1 .The more you ask, the more you learn.
Let me tell you about the museum before I take you around. There are 2 floors in all, you can learn a lot of new things on each floor.You all have3 of the building so you shouldn't get lost.
On the first floor, where we are now, you will be able to see a lot of interesting science experiments. You can try them all yourselves. We will spend an hour here.
Then we will go to the second floor. There you will see the IT floor -- how computers work, as well as mobile phones and that kind of things. On the same floor you can see the history of the car. We have some very 4 and very new cars for you to see.
On the next floor you will learn about5 travel. You will see a copy of the rocket（火箭）that took the astronaut into the moon. On the same floor you can follow the history of the airplane.
On the top floor, we will look at how the human body 6 . All in all, you will benefit a lot from this visit.

Tom lived alone in a small house far away from the city center because his parents died of some strange illness two years ago. However, he was a l boy, people in this village were all very kind to him and they often helped Tom with his life.
One night, it was very dry and windy. When everybody was s , Tom suddenly heard some noise. It came out from the kitchen. So he got up and walked to the kitchen q. There he found that the wood beside the stove（火炉）was burning. There was no win the house, so he could not put out the fire. However, he didn't feel afraid. He u a piece of cloth to cover his nose, ran out of his house and knocked on the doors of many houses to wake all the people up. The people all got up and left their houses at once and helped to fetch water from a river running through the village.
F, the fire was put out by the villagers. No more houses were burnt and nobody was hurt in the fire. All the villagers were thankful to Tom and gave him a big hug.
Mini school brings fun
When the COVID-19 pandemic spread in the US, all students stayed at home. Lily opened a mini 'school' for her sister, Lucy and Lucy's best friend, Karen, in a garage（车库）.
After dusting the cobwebs（蜘蛛网）and sweeping the floor, the garage was finally clean enough. Later,Lily brought in a few tables and chairs, lots of paper, a whiteboard and a bag of markers（马克笔）.
The class began every day at about 3:00 in the afternoon till evening. Karen's mother, Emma, paid Lily $1 a day and Lily's mom did the same thing. When Lucy and Karen first arrived, Lily taught the girls how to count numbers. She also drew many pictures on paper with a black marker to teach the girls how to color.
They did different activities every day. One time, they drew pictures of themselves on the paper plates， decorated（装饰）them and put them on the wall. During the break，they played in the driveway. Sometimes, other friends joined in the fun until the moon lit the dark night sky.
Lily really enjoyed being a teacher and she hopes she can get more chances（机会）to teach soon!
