Some students are talking about their weekends.
Linda: I studied for my English test on Saturday. On Sunday evening I talked to my pen pal on the phone. Tim: I had a good time. On Saturday morning I played tennis, in the afternoon I went to the beach, and in the evening I went to Nancy's birthday party. On Sunday I went to the mountains with my friends.
Mary: Oh, your weekend was great. But mine was boring. I stayed at home the whole weekend. I cleaned my room and washed my clothes. I even watered the flowers. And I only watched TV for a short time in the evening.
Dave: I stayed at home and watched TV on Saturday. Yesterday I watched a movie on TV. It was very exciting.

Helen wants to find a job, so on a sunny morning she starts to dress herself up. Soon she has a new look. She has long curly brown hair and wears a white T-shirt and blue jeans. She looks tall and beautiful.
When she walks in the street, she finds a big whiteboard in front of a shop. There is a notice on it—"A worker wanted in our shop". She goes into the shop. The owner meets her. He asks Helen some questions and she answers them well. Then the man says, "OK, you can get the job. Please come to work next Monday." Helen is so happy and asks, "How much will you pay me?" The man answers, "In the first three months, I'll pay you 400 dollars every month. Then I'll pay you 50 dollars more from the fourth month." "Great! I'll come and work here three months later then," Helen says happily.
What do you think of your school life? Someone says it is very boring because you just have lessons all day. But I think it is great fun. Let me tell you how we can make our school life full of fun.
First, you should make a lot of friends. You can share joy and sadness, enjoy your school days and do everything together with them. Second, you'd better be in one of your school sports clubs. You can take part in different sports or matches. Sports will make your school life colourful. Third, you should do well in studies. Your marks will be important. With good marks, you will find it easier to be happy.
I am sure if you do the above three things, you'll enjoy yourself very much at school.
