Outgoing people generally use their arms with big movements, while quieter people keep them close to their bodies. If someone upsets you, just cross your arms to show you're unhappy!

    Head When you want to appear confident, keep your head level. If you are a monitor in class, you can also take on this position when you want your words to be taken seriously. However, to be friendly in listening or speaking, you must move your head a little.

    Legs Your legs tend to move around a lot more than normal when you are nervous or telling lies. If you are at interviews, try to keep them still!

    Posture (姿势) A good posture makes you feel better about yourself. If you are feeling down, you normally don't sit straight, with your shoulders inwards. This makes breathing more difficult, which can make you feel nervous or uncomfortable.

    Mouth When you are thinking, you often purse your lips. You might also use this position to hold back an angry comment you don't wish to show. However, it will probably still be noticed and people will know you're not pleased.

Face When you lie, you might put on a false face. But that expression would crack briefly, allowing displays of true emotions such as happiness, sadness, disgust (厌恶) and fear to come through.

    If the eyes are the windows of the soul, then the body is the mirror of our feelings. If we are feeling great, we may give our body signals(信号). If we look at someone else's body, we can often tell how they are feeling by their body signals. So reading body language signals is a great tool in daily communication.

    In case(假使) you think that learning how to read and use body language is not important, here are some numbers for you. 7% of the information we receive is from what people actually say, and 38% of the information we receive is from the tone(语气) and the speed of their voice; while 55% of the information we receive is from their body language.

    These non-verbal(非口头的) signals will help you a lot, but you still need to focus on what people are saying. If you focus too much on their body language signals, you and the person may feel uncomfortable. It is useful to be able to read people's body language, but it is useful to learn how to send the right signals and avoid the wrong signals too. Body language may be given several interpretations. Many signals have different meanings, depending on the person and the situation. Be sure of it when you are trying to read a body language signal.

    For a baby, to be born on a plane might be a lucky thing. Just a few days ago, a mother gave birth to a baby boy on a plane of Buraq Air and the new baby didn't need to pay for the air tickets for a lifetime from the air company.

    The new mother was on a flight (航班）from Libya to Niger. For some people, being born on a plane sounds a bit strange and even a bit dangerous. But luckily the child was healthily born with the help of the flight's workers. To thank the workers on the plane, the excited mother decided to give her baby the same name as the captain (机长). Burap Air is in Libya and the air company offers flights to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

    This isn't the first time a baby was born on a plane and got such a lucky prize. Last month, a baby was born on a flight from Dubai to Manila. The air company celebrated the birth of the baby and gave her a present of one million miles free flight.

    You may know the song Happy Birthday very well. But do you know about its writer? It was written by an American girl. And she became very rich after that.

    When she was a child, she was poor. Once, she was invited to her friend's birthday party. She was pleased but sad because she didn't have enough money to buy a gift for her. "The party is coming soon, but now I don't have any money." the girl cried.

    Later that night she was in bed, thinking about the gift when the door opened and her grandma came in. "What happened?" her grandma asked. Hearing the girl's story, she said, "Don't worry. I think I can help you. How about singing a song together? Happy birthday to …" What a beautiful song! They sang and sang. Suddenly she woke up. It was a dream! She wrote it down at once and would sing it to her friends at the party.

    When she sang the song at the party the next day, her friends were very happy. "How wonderfully you sing! I haven't heard such a beautiful song before. Thank you for giving me the special gift." said her friend. And they learnt to sing it together. Later the girl became famous in America.

    Walt Disney began to make cartoon movies when he was a young man. But he didn't have much money then. One day a mouse ran near his desk while he was working in his small office.

    "Would you like to be my pet?" Disney decided to make a cartoon about it.

    "I am making a cartoon about a mouse named Mortimer," he told his wife.

    "Mortimer Mouse? I think Mickey Mouse would be a better name," she said.

    "You are right. It would," Disney agreed and made many Mickey Mouse cartoons.

    People all over the world saw Mickey and loved it. Mickey Mouse made Disney famous. Then came Donald Duck, and Goofy Dog and others. Disney began to make long cartoons. Then he made cartoon movies for television.

    In 1955, Disney opened a wonderful land of make-believe in California. Real boats, castles, trains, mountains, rivers, all are in one beautiful park. Millions of people came to Disneyland. He died in 1966, but the world will not forget him. Mickey Mouse and all his cartoons will help us to remember him.

    Body language is used by people for sending messages to one another. It is very helpful it can help make you easily understood by others. When you are talking with others, you are not only using words, also using expressions and body movements. Body language (include) your facial expressions and gestures when you are communicating with other people. It is important part of social etiquette (社交礼仪) and the proper use of body language can make your (communicate) more effective (有效的), especially when it comes to foreign friends who can't speak your language. That means you could convey (传达) most of your information by body language even if you don't know what (other) are speaking!

    Different countries have different body language. When you use a foreign language, it is important (know) the meaning of gestures in the foreign country. (use) body language in a correct way will help communicate with people and make the stay in a foreign country easy and (comfortably).
