On the night of December 24th. Santa Claus travels around the world and gives presents to children. He has presents for children all around the world.

This Christmas Santa visited Rita's house in Canada. He left a toy kangaroo from Australia under Rita's tree. He visited Maria's house in Australia. He left a British doll under Maria's tree. He visited Helga's house in the UK. He left an American bag under Helga's tree. He visited John in the USA.He left a Chinese toy panda under John's tree. Santa visited Yaoyao in China. He left a box of Canadian maple candy there.

At six o 'clock in the morning Santa arrived home. He looked in his bag. There was one gift left. "Oh, no!" Santa cried. "I've been to every country in the world. Where should I go now?" Santa looked at the box. There was no name." What should I do?"

Mrs Claus came out of the kitchen. "How was your trip?" she asked. "I've been around the world. I'm very tired, but there is one box left."

Mrs Claus looked at the box.Santa's name was written on the corner. "This gift is for you!" "For me?" Santa opened the box. He saw a globe. There was a little note. It said, "THANK YOU, SANTA! FROM THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD!"

Colours and Feelings

In some countries, red is an angry colour. To "see red" means to get angry. But in China, red is a happy colour. We wear red clothes at Chinese New Year and give money in red envelopes.

Yellow and orange are cheerful summer colours. Sunshine looks orange, and golden yellow is the colour of a sandy beach.

Blue is the colour of the sky and the sea. In English, you "feel blue" when you are sad. Green sometimes means safety. A traffic lights around the world, the green light means "go."

 Purple is a colour for wealth and success. In the USA, the Purple Heart is a famous medal given to very brave soldiers, so purple means bravery.

One day, Tortoise is walking in the town. Many people are listening to Rabbit. He is smiling. Tortoise goes to listen to him. "I'm faster than everybody" Rabbit syas. No one can win a race against me" Tortoise is very angry with Rabbit. Yes, you are fast," says Tortoise. "But you can not win every time." Rabbit laughs and laughs. "Ha! Ha! Are you faster than me?" he asks. "You cannot win, Rabbit" says Tortoise "Let's race," says Rabbit. He laughs so much he falls down.

Early the next day, everybody is watching the race. Rabbit and Tortoise can see the finishing line at the end of the town. "Go!" says the Dog. Tortoise and Rabbit start. Rabbit stops and looks back at Tortoise. "You are so slow. This is not a race. You will take all day to finish." He laughs again. Rabbit sees some lettuce. "I'm hungry," he thinks. He sits under a tree and eats a lot of lettuce. He thinks, "When Tortoise gets near the finishing line, I will just walk in front and win." Two hours later, he is still under the tree. He sees Tortoise only half way to the finishing line. Rabbit laughs. "You'll get there at night time," he says. Tortoise doesn't listen. He keeps on walking to the finish line. Rabbit watches Tortoise all day. He gets tired sitting in the sun. Soon he is sleeping. Rabbit wakes up. He looks for Tortoise. Tortoise is very near the finishing line. "Oh, no!" Rabbit runs and runs to the finishing line.  "I will win", he thinks. Tortoise win the race! Everybody is happy with Tortoise. Tortoise smiles at Rabbit and says, "Slowly, slowly is the way." Rabbit is embarrassed.

This is a story about a king who loves clothes. The king walks in the town. Everybody likes his clothes. The king is very happy. A weaver sees the King. "I have an idea," he thinks." I can play a trick on the king and get a lot of money." The next day, the weaver comes to see the king. He says, "I'm a weaver. I make wonderful clothes." "Make me your best clothes," says the king. "That is not easy," says the weaver. "I need a lot of gold to make these clothes because they are very special." "Why?" asks the king. "These clothes will tell you who is a fool. Fools cannot see these clothes. They think these clothes are invisible." The king likes this idea.  "Now I can know who is a fool" he thinks. "Make me these clothes," he says. A few days later, the king is worried. He thinks "A fool can't see the clothes. Will I see the clothes? " The king sends his servant to the weaver. The servant can not see the clothes because there are no clothes. The servant thinks, "Oh no! I'm a fool. I can not tell the king I am a fool" The servant tells the king the clothes are wonderful. The king is very happy. "I will show everybody these clothes" he says. The weaver goes to the king. "Here are the clothes," he says. But the king cannot see the invisible clothes. He thinks, "Oh, no. I'm a fool. But I can't tell people I'm a fool." The kings says to the weaver, "The clothes are wonderful." The weaver smiles and thinks, "My trick is working." The king walks in the town. He thinks he is wearing his new clothes. The people know he has no clothes on, but they want him to be happy. They say, "The king's clothes are wonderful! Oh my! He looks so handsome!" The king is very happy. A small boy sees the king. The small boy says, "Look! The king is wearing no clothes. "Then everybody laughs at the king. The king's face is red.

A weaver says he can make wonderful clothes for the king.

The servant can not see the clothes, but he tells the king the clothes are wonderful.

The king in the town loves beautiful clothes.

The king walks in the town with wearing nothing.

A small boy says that the king is wearing nothing.
