I am Wang Lin. I am twelve years old. My pen pal Tom is from the United States. He is the same age as I. He is a middle school student in Beijing. There are three people in his family. His father is a teacher. He teaches English in a high school in Beijing. His mother is an English teacher, too. But they work in different schools. Tom goes to school in his mother's car every day. They all like Chinese food. Tom's father likes Guangdong food. He thinks it is delicious. Tom's mother's favorite food is Sichuan food. But Tom doesn't like Sichuan food. He thinks it is too hot. So they often eat out on weekends.
Water is very important to people. We must drink water every day. We can't live without(没有) water, Water is everywhere around(环绕) us. At home, we use water to wash clothes, to wash dishes, to cook meals, to clean our room, to have showers, to make drinks(饮料), to clean our teeth, to have a bath and so on.
At work, people use water to put out fires, to grow vegetables, to make things in factories and so on. They also can swim in the river. Water is important to us, isn't it?
However（然而) there isn't much water on the earth. It is very valuable（珍贵的）. We must save it. If we waste(浪费) too much water, one day in the future, the last drop(滴) of water on the earth will be our tea(眼泪).
