Bikes are popular in the Dutch(荷兰). In fact, nearly half of all travel in the Dutch is by bike. Now, one Dutch bike designer(设计师), Thomas, has taken the country's interest in bikes by making a school bus bike.
The big bike has eight seats for kids, a driver seat for an adult(成年人), and three other seats, comfortably letting little kids for their trip to and from school. The bike even has a motor, which can help with high hills or at times when few kids on it.
So far, Thomas tells Fast Company, he's sold 25 school-bikes, at a price of $ 25,000 each—less than it would cost to buy a traditional school bus with the same number of seats. Along with the traditional color, the bikes are yellow so that people can see them easily.
Thomas says he's sold school bus bikes to neighboring countries such as Belgium, England and Germany, but so far, the United States hasn't bought the school bus bike. If the U.S. agrees to buy this kind of school bus bike, it could do a lot of good to improve exercise for a young age and help them keep healthy.
A gentleman put an advertisement in a newspaper to look for a boy to work in his office. From nearly fifty persons, he chose one and refused the others.
"I should like to know," said a friend, "Why you liked that boy better. He did not have a letter or a recommendation (推荐)."
"You are wrong," said the gentleman. "He had a great many. He cleaned his feet at the door and closed the door behind him. That showed that he was careful. He gave his seat at once to that old man. That showed that he was kind and thoughtful. He took off his cap when he came in and answered my question at once. That showed that he was polite and gentlemanly."
"I threw some books on the floor and some persons went over them, but that boy picked them up and put them on the table. He waited quietly for his turn instead of pushing. When I talked to him, I found his clothes were tidy, his hair was brushed clearly and his finger nails (指甲) were clean. I think these are more important than a letter and a recommendation."
When they saw I didn't move, they quickly built a platform(平台) next to my head, and an official (官员) climbed up there to speak to me. Although I could not understand his language, I understood that they would be friendly towards me—if I did not try to harm (伤害) them. By now I was very hungry, so I used sign language to ask the official for food. He seemed to understand me, because they put ladders(梯子) against my sides and little men climbed up with baskets of food and drink. They were surprised at how much I could eat and drink. In just one mouthful(一口) I ate three of their meat dishes and three of their loaves of bread. I drank two of their barrels (桶)of wine, and was still thirsty, because that was only half a litre (1升). While they were bringing me food, I wondered whether(是否) to pick up some of the little men and throw them to their death. But I was afraid they would shoot at me again, and anyway I was thankful for their kindness in giving me food and drink, so I did not move.
After some time, another official climbed up to the platform and spoke to me. From his signs I understood that they were going to move me. The King of this country(which was called Lilliput) had ordered his people to carry me to the capital city. I made signs to ask whether I could be untied(松绑),but the official politely refused.
While I was eating, they had prepared a platform to carry me. The people of Lilliput are very clever with their hands. For me, five hundred men built a special wooden platform with twenty-two wheels. One thousand, five hundred of the King's largest horses pulled me to the capital. I did not know about any of this, because they had put some sleeping pills (安眠药) in my wine, and I was in a deep sleep.

Do you go to school by bus? It is very important for you to know how to be safe when taking a bus, no matter whether you like it or not.
First, don't run to the bus stop, but walk. While you are at the bus stop, you should wait in a safe place. Do not run or play while waiting. And never get into a car with a stranger.
Second, don't talk in a loud voice when you are on the bus, so the driver will not be disturbed(打扰). If you need to talk with the bus driver, you'd better wait until the bus stop. Never throw things on the bus or out of the windows. Never play near the emergency exit(紧急出口). When there is a fire, the most important thing is to break the window with a hammer(锤子) or any sharp(锋利的) things and then jump out.
Third, when you are getting off the bus, make sure you walk (not run) three more steps away from the door. This is the best place to be around a bus. Stay away from the bus wheels and watch out for moving cars!
Last, if you leave something on the bus, never return to the bus to get it. The driver may not see you come back and he may begin moving the bus. Also, if you drop something near the bus, tell the driver before you try to pick it up, so he will know where you are.
