Today we are learning about World Water Day. Our teacher asks us to find something about it and then write a report. So I look for the following information on the Internet.
World Water Day is on March 22 every year. It teaches people the importance of fresh water. And it asks people to do something to save water. Nowadays, the water problem is a serious problem for the people in the world.
Many schools give much support (支持) to World Water Day. They are trying to teach students the importance of saving and reusing water. For example, Michigan State University held a contest(竞赛)for" best World Water Day poster" in2017. Primary school children in the Philippines took part in a "My School Toilet" contest in 2010.
As for World Water Day, there is also a theme (主题) for each year, such as "Leaving no one behind" in 2019, " Nature for Water" in 2018 and" Why Waste Water?" in 2017. The first World Water Day started in 1993. It is an international day now.
Look! Here comes a bus. It looks like a panda with black ears and big eyes. It can carry(载)22 people and is about 12 meters long. Smart Panda Bus uses AI technology(科技). It can do a lot of things. It can drive by itself. Don't worry! It's very safe. When you get on the bus, you can swipe (刷) your hand. The bus will read your handprint (手纹)and know who you are. The San Diego Zoo in California started a three—week farewell party(告别派对) for two pandas.
Twenty-seven-year-old mother panda Bai Yun and her son, six-year-old Xiao Liwu, would leave the zoo in late April and go back to China.
Erica Kohler, leader of the San Diego Zoo, said that it is sad to see the two pandas leaving for China. Each year about 2 million visitors went to the zoo to see Bai Yun and Xiao Liwu. Bai Yun arrived at the San Diego Zoo in 1996.
The cute panda soon became popular and one of the most popular animals in the zoo. The name of her son, Xiao Liwu, means Little Gift in English.
Many zoo visitors went to the zoo to say goodbye to the pandas, and wrote down their best wishes on cards and posted them on a friendship wall.
