One of the most amazing things about the human mind is our ability to imagine the future. In our 1we can see what has not yet happened. For example, while we are looking forward to visiting a new place or country, we 2what it will be like. We predict (预测) the places of interest and the 3 people will eat, dress and act. Of c0ourse, we do not always predict the things 4 Sometimes things are very different from what we imagine them to be.
Humans also use their minds to think in their dreams. One of the most 5dreams in history is the dream of the German scientist, Kekule, who had been trying to work out a very 6 problem in physics. He had studied the problem for weeks, but it seemed as if there was no way of 7 the answer. Then one night he went to bed and had a dream. When he woke up, he8that he knew the answer because he had solved the problem in his dream. How9 it was!
Some scientists wanted to study how it worked. They used certain machines to study Kekule's brain after he fell asleep. They did some10 but were not able to find out the truth.
I like fishing with my parents on weekends. My friends don't understand it. They always ask me, "How can you sit with your parents for hours like that?" When they ask me that question, I never say a word. I just smile. Last Sunday, I went fishing with my parents on a lake in Nanjing. When we got there, I found a nice place to fish and sat down. My parents sat far away from me. I threw some bait (饵) into the river. But I didn't catch a fish. So I went to see my mom and dad. They didn't catch anything either. My dad said, "Let's fish together. Maybe we will be lucky later." I got my things and sat down with my dad and mom. We started to talk and I told them about the most interesting teacher in my school. We talked and laughed for the rest of the day. Soon the Sun started to set. We didn't catch any fish, but I had a great day. I understood my parents better.
On the way home, I told my mom how much I wanted to have fish for dinner. "That's a good idea. We can buy one from the market, she said. We all looked at each other and laughed loudly.
Suddenly, I realized how much I loved my parents.
Sunday, March 20, 2016 Dear Mom and Dad,
The time has come: I'm graduating, and I thank you both for all your help during these 15 years. I still remember you used to say, “You can be whatever you want.” I'm so glad you are my parents, especially when I hear kids say they don't get on well with theirs. I'm glad that both of you give me support when I decide to do anything. You always try to help or encourage me, and that's very important to me Dad, I remember when you first took me fishing. It was very interesting. I loved going even though I never caught anything. I love staying with you and talking to you. I also remember when you would get angry with me. I realize you were only trying to show me the right way(31). When I would cry, you would always be there to try to cheer me up. That's what I call a good, loving, caring dad. Sometimes you and Mom don't agree with me, but you are there by my side in anything that I do, and that's why I love you so much.
Mom, I enjoy going out with you and having our happy time every Friday night, and I hope that never changes. I love telling you everything. The best part about you is that you listen. I'm glad we do a lot together. You love to have fun, and Dad does too. You always give me your opinion and I listen. Thank you for bringing me up. Love always,

Why did you become a businesswoman? | I had good roots of love and encouragement. When I got crazy ideas, my dad would say, “You can do that!” Even when I was 11, I had a nursery school (托儿所) in my backyard, and charged (收费) 25 cents for three hours. At the end of the summer, I saved $60. Businessmen always believe there's a better way to do things. |
What is the most important thing to be successful? | Doing what you say and never giving up. |
When was your darkest moment? | I had the hardest time when I started the business. I must get up at 3:00 a.m., drive 78 miles, work eight hours, drive home, pick up the kids, put them to bed, and study. I was always tired, and sometimes I felt hopeless. And yet somehow I kept going. |
You don't give up easily, do you? | Instead of complaining when problems come up, I take the energy and put it toward getting to the next level. |

We are always using body language in our daily lives. When we have a conversation with someone, we may be using more body language than words. However, the same body language may mean different things in different countries. That's why people sometimes cannot understand each other.
Pointing to one part of the body can have different meanings in different cultures. For example, in the USA people point to their heads when they think someone is clever. However, in Europe it means “He or she is stupid or something is wrong with his or her head”. In our Chinese culture, nodding our head up and down means “yes” and shaking our head from side to side means “no”. However, in some parts of Greece and Turkey, it means just the opposite. In England or the USA, when you raise your hand and make a circle with the thumb and the second finger, it means “Everything is all right”. However, if we do this in France or Belgium, it means “You're worth zero”. In Greece or Turkey, we should not make this gesture, or we are thought to be very rude (粗鲁的).
The meaning of gestures can also change over time. In the 1960s, the “V” sign meant “peace”. However, during the World War II, it meant “victory”. In Greece, it is an insulting sign. It will be very rude of you to make this gesture in front of a woman.
Though the meaning of body language is different, there are some expressions having the same meaning throughout the world, such as smiling and crying.
Which gesture will Americans make when they try to say “Everything is all right”？
Our brain is collecting information about the world around us all the time. It gets information from what we see,hear, touch, taste and smell. The brain works out what all this means and then we show a particular emotion (特别的情感) to all that information.
But children with autism (自闭症) are different from us. In fact, children with autism can get all the information, but they are not able to understand it all.
★Their ears can hear normally, but their brain cannot understand what others are saying. Sometimes, sounds that we like are far too loud to them. They may feel really upset by the everyday noises and will try to shut them out of their ears.
★Their eyes can see normally, but some things seem to hurt their eyes; some things seem to be very interesting.
★Sometimes they are so interested in looking at something that they can't notice what else is going on around them.
★They may be more comfortable learning in their own homes or in a special class at school.
★They may not be able to learn much about a lot of things, but they may know a large amount about one or two things.
★They will have trouble communicating by talking, listening and watching, or understanding what people mean when they are talking.
★People who have autism are born with it, but the signs that they are having problems usually do not show up until they are at least a year or more older.
Everyone needs to feel loved. If you have someone in your family or in your class who is autistic, you can help him by encouraging and caring. Try to give them love. It will make them feel much better.
Today I kept a promise and had lunch with a friend I had not seen for a while. I (be) extremely tired from school work, and my 5 hours in art lab where I had just come from, I wanted to go home to have a rest.
