7!" She told Mike. "The watch is only $ 11. You still have $1 for the8." She packed the watch and Mike thanked her and he rode off home with the gift under his arm.
When Mike's father opened the gift, he was very9."Where did you get it?"
"I bought it at the Mary's gift shop. It10me $11." he said. His father was shocked(震惊的) into silence.
Many years later, Mike knew the watch cost several hundred dollars,11he appreciated( 感激) how nice Mary was to him. He always felt regretful ( 后悔的) that he12had a chance(机会) to thank her.

Mineral City is an interesting place tovisit. It is beautiful little town with many old buildings.
Take a walk through the center of the town on Main Street.Look first at the Mineral City Hotel. It is on the corner of Main Street andGlenn Avenue. It is about 150 yearsold and people will stay there. There is an interesting old building across thestreet from the hotel. This was a post office. Now it is a store for books andvideos. There are many places to eat on Main Street. You can get lunch or dinner in one of these places. There is apark between Main Street and Oak Street. Youcan sit on a bench in the park. It is nice and quiet, and you can enjoythe trees and flowers.
You can also take a walk down Glenn Avenue. Look at the old buildings andinteresting little stores on this street.
Jack and Eason were walking through the forest. They knew that it was dangerous to do this because many wild animals live in the forest. As friends, they agreed that they would stay together and help each other if there was any danger.
All of a sudden, they saw a large bear running toward them. Jack climbed a nearby tree. He didn't think about his friend at all.
Unluckily, Eason did not know how to climb. He could only lie down on the ground. He held his breath and pretended(假装) to be dead.
The bear came close to Eason. He smelled the man for a moment and left. You see, bears do not eat dead animals or people.
After the bear walked away, Jack climbed down and went to Eason on the ground.
"Are you okay? Did the bear hurt you? If only you could climb a tree," he said, not knowing that he didn't' follow their agreement(约定).
Eason then answered, "Do you know what the bear told me? He told me do not believe afalse friend!"

On a sunny afternoon, many people were painting pictures, writing calligraphy(书法) and shooting arrows(射箭) in park. I decided to t shooting arrows myself — it looked fun.
I saw one woman p up an arrow and shoot it after taking moment to aim(瞄准). The arrow curved(飞出弧线) through the air beautifully. But it fell to the ground and m the target(目标).
It seemed that she didn't put enough power into her shot. While I was thinking about what I should do, it was my t to shoot. I focused(聚焦)my eyes on the target and shot the arrow wall of my strength(力量). But the arrow missed the target and fell in the grass. I shot three more arrows, but all of them missed.
I was upset, but decided to take one more shot. I took deep breath(深呼吸) and put one foot forward to kmy balance(平衡). I focused hard on the target and shot the arrow. This time, I hit the target!
I think there are many things that are not as e as we think. There are challenges(挑战) e . But if we focus on one thing at a time and l from failure(失败), we will win in the e .
