    Each nation has many good people who help to take care of others. For example, some high school and college students in the USA often1many hours as volunteers in hospitals, orphanages or 2 for the aged. They read books to the people in these places, or they just visit them and play games with them or listen to their 3.

    Other young volunteers go and work in the homes of people who are sick or old. They paint, clean up, or repair houses, do their shopping and mow their lawns. For boys who no longer have fathers there is a(n) 4called Big Brothers. College students and other 5take these boys to baseball games or on fishing trips and 6them to get to know things that boys usually learn from their fathers.

    Each city has a number of clubs where boys and girls can go to play games or learn crafts. Some of these clubs show movies or organize short trips to the mountains, the beaches, the museums or other 7of interest. Most of these clubs use a lot of high school and college students as 8because they are 9enough to remember the problems of younger boys and girls.

    Volunteers believe that some of the 10people in the world are those who help to bring happiness. Helping others brings them much pleasure.

    The person who has taught me the most about life is my grandmother. My parents did a lot of traveling when I was young, so I spent most of my school holidays  her. She was more than  a grandmother to me. When she died a few years ago, I felt I  a really good friend.

    She always looked really good for her age. She had brown hair and a big round face. She wasn't very  and she was a little fat. She was always smiling.

    She was such a considerate(考虑周到的) person. She  how much I missed my parents, so she did everything she could to make me feel at home. She was also really imaginative and spent hours  me stories that she made up. I'm sure it was because of her that I became a .

    She not only filled me with joy, but also taught me so many important . I was very impatient(没有耐心的) when I was a child and she taught me that good things would .

    If I could wait for them. She was such a positive(积极乐观的) person and she also taught meto look for the good in everything.

    It is the day of Big Bang's concert in Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium. In front of the stadium, there are lots of rice towers from over 60 countries. The staff members(工作人员) are putting ribbons(丝带), photos and messages from fans(迷) around the rice towers to make them more beautiful. What's happening at the concert?

    Fan rice, usually in bags, is rice from fans. Fans of Korean pop (K-pop) stars give bags of rice to their favorite artists. Then, the artists donate(捐赠) the bags to the hungry. This started in 2011. Before that, fans usually sent food or flowers to their favorite stars. Now, more and more fan clubs are making these donations. They do this to show their love and support for their favorite stars.

    There are even businesses that buy and deliver(递送) bags of rice for fans. They buy rice from South Korean farmers. And then they make sure the rice is at places of the K-pop concerts. It is common that staff members in the business spend hours setting up towers with the bags of rice. A businessman who does this says that more and more fans are donating rice, and sales have grown very fast.

    We usually work from 9: 00 a.m. to 5:00 p. m. However, for some people, it's their bedtime.

People looked at each other and didn't know what happened. Finally, after about thirty minutes a second announcement came, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are sorry for the trouble we have caused you. You may now come back into the building."

    We went into the building again. Then my father noticed that he didn't have his bag with him.

    He went outside to look but it was not there. Then he went up to the information desk to ask if somebody handed it in.

    "What color was it, sir?" asked the friendly lady behind the desk.

    "Black with some red words on it," replied my father.

    "Ah, yes. We found your bag. You left it at the check-in(办理登机手续)desk. Unluckily your bag is broken because we were not sure if there was something dangerous in it. I am afraid that you will have to pay $500 as we had to clear the airport and all the flights have been delayed(延误)."

    In China, more and more middle school students are getting shorter sleeping time than before. because they have much homework to do. Some homework is given by their teachers and some by their parents. Also . They are not careful enough while they do their homework, . Some students spend too much time watching TV or playing computer games. They stay up very late. Some student have to get up early every morning on weekdays to get to school on time by bus or by bike. .

    Schools and parents should cut down some of the homework so that children can enjoy more than nine hours of sleep every night for their health. For children, we should make best use of our time. , we will find it much better for both our study and health.
