One night, when Xiao Ming and his father were sleeping, a thief whose face was covering with a piece of cloth entered into the room quietly, holding a knife in his hand. Although he tried to walk as quietly as possibly, Xiao Ming and his father was woken up. Realizing what had happened, they fought brave against the thief. Suddenly Xiao Ming came up an idea. He threw a drawing pin on the floor where the thief might passed. As was expected, the thief stepped on a pin and was badly hurt. Screaming in great pain, the thieves fell down. Xiao Ming and his father took the chance to tie the thief up. With Xiao Ming's cleverness, they finally win the unexpected battle.

Dear Sir,

I'm writing to offer some advices on our winter travel. In my opinion, a one-week trip to a countryside can't be good. The fresh air and various activities will guarantee us a healthy life here.

We may go by bike to enjoy the landscape. During the trip, we can arrange some activities, from what we will benefit a lot, such as playing snowballs, building a snowman, going skating and climb a mountain. We can even invite the local students join us, not only to improve their English but also to deepen their understanding of the countryside. I am glad to hear of you again. You want to know that everything is going in our school. In shortly, all has been improving since the school had began to carry out some new policies. Recently I have taken an interest in cook so I suggest that the school organizes a cooking﹣learning activity to teach students to prepare any delicious food. It can be a great fun and I bet there will be a lot communication going on among students. Besides, it's a good way to build up team spirit. The school can even held a competition to see whom can cook the most delicious food. More important, I think cooking is a vital skill for people nowadays. What is known to all, eating self﹣cooked food is a much healthier and little costly way of life than eating in a restaurant.
