Summer Holidays(暑假) in England

    With July coming, the summer holidays begin. Boys and girls will have 60 days to rest. The weather is good. Parents will take their children to the seaside(海边) for the holidays. The children like the sand(沙子), the sun, the cool wind and the water. Certainly there are lots of things to see, good things to eat, and exciting things to do. They can play ball games. They can go on field trips, too. They study real things on the field trips. What good holidays!

    It is March 12th. It's Tree Planting Day. There are many people on the hills. They're planting trees. People plant many trees today. Plants are important to us. They can make food from the air, water and sunlight. But animals and people can't do so. Animals and people can get food from plants. Without plants, life will not go on, Plants make the air clean. They can keep water from flowing away(流失). They can stop wind from blowing up sand and earth. But in some places people are cutting down too many trees. This brings about floods and sandstorm. Now more and more people know that plants are important. They will plant more trees and grow more plants. They will try to protect the trees.

    I'm Peter. I'm from the UK. I have a brother. His name is Jim. He is taller than me, but I am older than him. We are helpful. We often clean the room and wash the clothes on the weekend. He likes playing computer games. I like playing computer games, too. But he plays better than me. He also likes reading. He often goes the bookstore and the library. After dinner, we usually read books. Sometimes we go for a walk. We always have a good time together. Do you have a brother or sister? Can you tell me about him/her?

Seasons in Canada

    I love summer! In summer, the weather is usually very hot, and I can swim in the sea.

    Spring is beautiful, but in Canada it often rains. And it is hard to plant flowers in the rain.  I love my garden! It is so nice to watch the flowers grow.

    In autumn I can pick apples. They are so delicious in autumn. I also love to watch the leaves fall. That is why we can call autumn "fall".

    It usually snows in winter in Canada. Sometimes it snows here in Beijing, too. When it snows, I can ski.

    I love all the seasons. They are all beautiful and I can find many things to do.

    Today is Children's Day. The weather is sunny. We are having a good time. We are going on a field trip in a small village. There are many trees and flowers. Listen! The birds are singing. Look! My father is drawing. My mother is catching butterflies. My grandparents are playing chess. My little brother is writing on a tree. My sister is shouting at him, "Mike, don't do that. It's a bad habit!"
