Devin Jackson, who went from selling tickets to tourists on Times Square to working as an engineer for a number of major corporations, told ABC News that he was 1 that there weren't many Black engineers or coders in the industry. So he decided to do something about it and 2 . 

In 2017, Jackson co-founded the non-profit organization We Build Black which 3 meetups, training courses and workshops for up-and-4 Black engineers. 

In the six years since it 5 , Jackson said his organization has raised millions of dollars, and trained and helped over 3,000 members with their 6 . 

"I became a software engineer and realized that I need to share the 7 with everybody around me and, you know, show my community 8 those freedoms," Jackson said. 

Sheree Edmund, a software engineer, told ABC News that the program allowed her the 9 to grow and have a space to pursue computer programing. Edmund, who was 10 with high functioning autism (孤独症) three years ago, said "It was a community, and an atmosphere where I didn't feel like I had to 11 who I was to fit in. And that made it a lot less 12 to be my real self. "

Jackson encouraged others to 13 their interest in tech and engineering skills, no matter how hard it may seem to 14 the industry. 

"You got to control what you can control at the end of the day and what you control is 15 ," he said. "So get to the grind (磨炼). That's really what I want you to take from this at the end of the day. "

When he was only six years old, my son was attracted by the beauty of ballet. Afterwards, when he showed 1 in learning to dance, the classmate who lived next door laughed. "Don't be silly," she said. "There are no boys in my 2 class." 

In fact, the neighbourhood friend wasn't the only person who didn't

3 his interest in dance. Including me, many family members and friends tried to 4 him by saying depressing words. "Boys don't dance." "Dancing is for girls." To stop his 5 , I enrolled him in swimming lessons and science camp. But he never lost enthusiasm for learning to dance, and it 6 when he watched dancers in Broadway shows.  

Finally, he got to have his dance and voice classes during high school. His goal was to 7 the school's chorus(合唱团), a group of 28 students that performed at various community events. The competition to become a 8 was fierce and my son's hard work paid off. He performed well as a member of the chorus and it 9 the way to his dance career.  

The summer after graduating from high school, my son designed dance for a group of students. How 10 I was on the final night of the play when the dancers thanked my son on the stage! 

During his first year of college, he was 11 a role in a national touring company. When my son asked if he should finish 12 first and then dance, I didn't 13 to give him my support, "No more

14 dreams. Go for it!" 

Several years later, he got a 15 to join his idol, an excellent dancer, in his tour of Sweet Charity. Over the years, my son has danced in many theatres, television and other musicals. Indeed, boys dance, too.  

Emily, a 14-year-old teenager, walked through her town one afternoon. Her eyes were drawn to the sight of people without homes on street corners, trembling（颤抖） against the chill. It was a scene that stirred something deep within her—a desire to make a difference, no matter how small.

Emily decided to turn her love of baking into a force for good. She whipped（搅打） cream, mixed flour, and baked cookies and cakes in her family kitchen. With the support of her friends and family, she set up a colorful stall in her bustling neighborhood, offering her homemade treats to passersby in exchange for donations.

The response was overwhelming. People were not only touched by Emily's handmade cookies but also inspired by her spirit. Before long, donations were pouring in. In just a few short weeks, Emily had raised over $1,000—a symbol of one's kindness to ignite a community's generosity.

But Emily's heart was set on doing even more. Inspired by the success of her bake sale, she came up with the idea of organizing a charity run. A community-wide event that would bring people together in support of a common cause. She reached out to local businesses and called for volunteers to help her realize the project. On the day of the charity run, participants ran under the clear, open sky, and the running campaign raised over $5,000 for the local homeless shelter.

For Emily, the true reward lay not in the dollars raised or the miles run but in the knowledge that she had touched the hearts of her community and shown that even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference to the world.

It was a typical weekend for Mitch White and his friends. They were out celebrating a bachelor party, sailing the peaceful waters of the Minnesota River. They never expected that this single party would transform from a relaxed canoe trip into a painful rescue mission. With the sun setting, an unexpected bark changed everything.

Led by Mitch White, the soon-to-be-married man, they searched for the source of the sound along the banks of the river. Suddenly, a weak cry for help came from the mud. They were surprised to find that the head of a 13-year-old St. Bernard named Ed was barely visible in the thick mud. Mitch said, "The dog wasn't moving on its own, so we should feed it and give it water. " The dog looked like i had used all its strength.

The men took up their oars（桨） and began digging, their festive mood giving way to a focused rescue mission. It took them more than half an hour to free the trapped dog as it was already breathing very feebly after possibly being trapped for 24 hours. When they got the poor fellow out of the mud, he couldn't walk, so they carried him back to the house. Back home with his owner, George Niskanen, Ed began his slow restoration-a happy ending to a dangerous adventure. George was thankful to the bachelor party heroes.

Now, the people of Carver, Minnesota, have new heroes to cheer for. Indeed, this incredible act of bravery and compassion redefined the meaning of a bachelor party. It became a heroic tale of humanity, friendship, and the instinct（本能）to do what's right.

The summer after my freshman year college, I had to get my first job. This was probably one of the1 tasks I have ever had to do. I had never held a job when I was in high school because my parents wanted me to put all my 2 into my studies. 

At first, it was very hard. I filled out dozens of 3 but got no calls back in the first two weeks. It made sense because I had 4 no job experience. All I could 5 was that being a high school graduate and a year of college. 

However, halfway through the third week, I finally got a call back from one of the places I 6 . We had set up a meeting time, and after my 7 , I was more than ready to start working the following Monday. I was 8 at the chance of working for my wages. 

When I started, it was very clear that I was not 9 . I made mistakes with orders and often 10 sales promotions（推销）. My parents made a bet I would not 11 the first two weeks, and I would be back looking for more 12 . However, I stuck with it. 

After working a while, I got better at orders, and always 13 the cheaper options for customers. A couple of weeks later, I had been told by the manager that I had 14 the award of the best employee of the month. It taught me a lot about responsibility and gave me the 15 of working. 

In 2014, Amy collapsed from a brain hemorrhage (脑溢血) while working. After a year recovering at home, she 1 a course with the ambition to become a 2 .

However, occasional vision disturbance was still 3 , influencing the amount of 4 she could give to the course. Further complications (并发症) left the young artist almost completely blind, making it difficult to see a whole figure. It's particularly 5 because it seemed to 6 her optimism to be a painter! 

One morning, when watching the sunrise, she suddenly felt a sense of 7 . She realized that she may not 8 a whole face anymore, but it shouldn't stop her from putting what she could see on canvas (画布). The following years, she 9 her special art journey.

"Strangely, my experience has increased my 10 when drawing, enabling me to catch a character better," she explains. "People often speak highly of the detail and sensitivity of the character. I have more determination and appreciation for my 11 . These are 12 I wouldn't have had without everything I've 13 ." For her new touring exhibition, she has produced a series of artworks based on her visual experience. "In the 14 interaction between what I can and cannot see lies my perspective on the world."

Sometimes, we can turn a loss into a gain: something unique and individual that has been gifted to us by never 15 .
