Many years ago, my dad worked in a children's hospital.

    A girl in the hospital had a 1 illness. She couldn't move her hands or feet. She could only move her head. She 2 on bed every day and she was very sad. Even the 3 couldn't help her.

    My dad 4 to try his best to help her. He brought paints, brushes and paper to her room. He hung (挂) the paper on the wall, put the brush in his 5 and began to paint. He didn't use his hands at all. Only his head moved. My dad 6 the girl, “See, you can do anything you want to do.”

    Soon the girl began to paint using her own mouth. She and my dad became good friends. But my dad fell ill 7 that time and he had to stay at home.

    Two months later, my dad went back to the children's hospital. 8 he went into the hospital, the girl ran to him and hugged him tightly (紧紧地). She gave my dad a picture and said, “I 9 this picture with my hands. Thank you for helping me.”

    Mr. Brown was good at singing.1he found work in a school.There he taught thestudents 2.He worked hard and most of his students sang  well.But he liked drinkingand  3much money on it.Sometimes he couldn't go to school on time.The headmaster toldhim to be careful of it.But soon he forgot it.

Once Mr. Brown drank much and 4in the street.The policemen carried him to school.The headmaster was so angry that he decided to send him away. Now he was out of work.Few people would help him.One morning he was very 5while he6by a beautiful house.He found the gate open and quickly went in.He wanted tofind some 7 .Suddenly he saw a man 8towards him.He went into a room.There were a lot of instruments(乐器)in it.And soon a girl came in.He had to lie under a desk.The girl began to sing.She sang badly but it lasted two hours.At twelve o'clock 9girl came to play the piano.She played even 10.Mr. Brown couldn't stay there any longer.He came out and said，“Send me to the police station.”

    Ashley was outspoken, fashionable, and the "Queen Bee" in my school.

    I looked up to her and idolized her. I listened to the music she listened to, wore the clothes she wore. I even took art class though I had really wanted to take theatre. I finally fitted in 1 group.

    One day, I skipped out of my last class a few minutes early to

2 seats for our group at the dining hall. Concentrating on my homework, I didn't notice they had sat down behind me. Before I could say a word, I realized what they were 3.

    I listened silently. "She's such a loser," one girl said.

    Another girl added, "Ashley, she 4 follows you, trying to copy you."

    "I wish she would leave us alone. We were in the same summer school and now she thinks we're best friends." The once familiar voice sounded so 5 and strange.

    I was mortified. My hands were shaking. I couldn't help crying 6. I felt heart—broken for the very first time. How did this happen? I 7 we were friends.

    I ran home. My mother just held me while I sobbed for hours. The advice she gave was so 8, and I had heard it a million times. "Just be yourself and people will like you for 9you are." This time it became so profound. Then and there I 10 to find myself back. That was exactly—what I did.

   Alice is the best student of Class 3. She walked to Luke and said, "Luke. Mike is good4every subject and he often helps others with schoolwork. He is 5 friendly to others

    Why did you say that?

    "But he 6 ugly (丑陋的)don't you think so "asked Luke.

    "No. I think you have an ugly heart(心) "said Alice.

    Luke didn't know what to say and he left. Mike said 7 to Alice. "You're welcome," Alice aid. "it's8 the day after tomorrow. What about going to play9 in the morning.

    "Sounds great!" said Mike. "And I think we can ask Luke to play with 10. I know tennis is his favorite sport. And I think he can be one of my friends."
