Pumpkins are a symbol of Halloween. Making {#blank#}1{#/blank#} out of pumpkins is a Halloween custom. Halloween is great fun for children. Small children go "Trick-or-Treating". They wear costumes (特定场合穿的服装). They {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ghosts, witches（女巫）or black cats. They knock on doors, and shout, "Trick or Treat!"

    The trick might be something like, "I'll spill all the trash out of your trash can if you don't give me a treat." People {#blank#}3{#/blank#} always choose to give them candies as a treat, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} choosing to receive a trick from the children. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} sometimes "trick or treat" their friends, too. Usually the "treat" is a glass of wine or some small gifts.

    Sports aren't only for men. Amantle Montsao is one of the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} women in the world. Amantle Montsho was lovely {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she was a child. She liked running, but her classmates often {#blank#}3{#/blank#} at her. Because women in her country didn't like to run. But she never cared {#blank#}4{#/blank#} that. She took part in a lot of {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and won. The Botswana National Sports Council(博茨瓦纳国际体育委员会) had a meeting and asked her to join them. At the age of 16. Ms Montsho worked as a shop clerk. She spent her free time {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. And the council asked {#blank#}7{#/blank#} to work on a program for two weeks a month. So she had to travel for 8 to 10 hours for it.

    The short race were not the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} fit(适合) for her. Then she started to run the 400-meter race. She {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the national record many times. She's so{#blank#}10{#/blank#} now. People think she is one of the most talented runners in the world.

    This term we have a new English teacher from Australia, Mr Green. He teaches very well and is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to us.

    Last Sunday some of my classmates and I went to visit him. He cooked some Australian food for us. We taught him {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to use chopsticks and the way of making dumplings.

    He had an interest in making Chinese food. He also told us a lot of western customs(习俗). For example, when they have dinner in a restaurant together, they {#blank#}3{#/blank#} keep quiet.

    When it was time for us to leave, I said to him, "Come to my home for dinner when you have time." He looked happy and asked, "When?" But {#blank#}4{#/blank#} fact, I was just to be polite. From that, we could see the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} from country to country.
