Keeping in touch with our friends is an important part of friendship. This does not mean that {#blank#}1{#/blank#} have to write or call our friends every day. It does mean, however, that we {#blank#}2{#/blank#} care enough about our friends to find out how they are doing from time to time.

    People have different habits about keeping in touch with others. Some like to call their friends, sometimes many times {#blank#}3{#/blank#}day. Others prefer to e-mail their friends. Still {#blank#}4{#/blank#} prefer writing letters so that they can include photos or interesting articles {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the envelopes along with their letters. Some even write postcards while they are on vacation {#blank#}6{#/blank#}send them to friends.

    Every kind of communication is important. It is {#blank#}7{#/blank#}important what kind of call we make or letter we send.{#blank#}8{#/blank#}is important is that we let others know we care about them.

     “What would you do if you{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(know) this was the last night of the world?” The two small girls{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(play) blocks on the rug when Mr. Johnson asked{#blank#}3{#/blank#}wife the question.     My patient was an old man who was there to have his cataract(白内障){#blank#}7{#/blank#}(remove) As the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(operate) neared a close, I started to take the operating cloth off, and put drops (眼药) in the patient' s eyes. We made eye contact and I stumbled(发愣) slightly when he said, "I can see! You are so beautiful.

    I realized then how{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(true) thankful he was and I helped him see! I realized at the moment that no matter how I was feeling, it was what I was doing{#blank#}10{#/blank#}was important.

    Spring Festival is the most celebrated festival in China. On that day and over the following two weeks, people greet each other. Streets and houses {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(decorate)by many things of red color.

    Spring Festival is a time for expressing gratefulness. Gratefulness is a Chinese virtue. A regular activity is offering sacrifice to the heaven and to the earth, and to ancestors. It is meant{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(show) gratefulness to the origin of life.

    Chinese foods, with a long history, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) known for their special taste and delicacy(精细). Here are several traditional Chinese foods.

    Noodles are a symbol of long life in Chinese culture. They are as much a part as {#blank#}2{#/blank#} birthday cake with its candles {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(light) in western countries. Since noodles mean long life, it is considered very {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (lucky) to cut it off.

    In China, a whole fish {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (symbol) richness. At a party, it is a tradition to serve the whole fish. Fish also has a special meaning because the Chinese word for fish, yu, which sounds like the word for richness. So {#blank#}6{#/blank#} is believed that eating fish will help your wishes come true in the year to come.

    Another popular dish is zongzi, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} is served during the Dragon Boat Festival.
