I'm Cathy Brown. I am now working for the Sunshine Travel Service in Jinan, Shandong. I have just come back from Taiwan, the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} island in China.

    Last week, I took a group of officials for a week's trip to Taiwan. We {#blank#}2{#/blank#} all around the island. There are lots of fascinating {#blank#}3{#/blank#} on the island. My favorite is the Sun Moon Lake. You may ask why people call it so. If you {#blank#}4{#/blank#} high up over the lake and look down from your plane, you'll find the answer {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. In the middle of this lake, there's a small island that is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} Lalu. On one side of Lalu, the lake {#blank#}7{#/blank#} like the sun, and on the other side it looks like the moon. That is why people call it the Sun Moon Lake.

    There are many {#blank#}8{#/blank#} around this lake. One of the nearest is Mount Ali. We stayed there for three days. We also {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a dancing party with Gaoshan people there.

    Why not consider {#blank#}10{#/blank#} Taiwan for your next vacation? It's a wonderful place to visit.

    An old saying goes, “When in Rome(罗马),do as the Romans do.” I learned the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of this when I studied in Russia.

    One day I invited some of my Chinese friends to a famous local restaurant in Moscow. My guests and I were {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  from visiting Red Square and happy about our meeting. We had a warm  chat  until  the  waiter  told  me  that  we  were  being  too  loud.  We  turned  our  voices {#blank#}3{#/blank#} .But this didn't last long. The waiter came over to us two more {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  with the same message.

    How bad an impression(印象) we must have left on the local people! In China, it's {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  and important for a host to make a {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  atmosphere(气氛).However, in Russia and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  countries, having a meal in a public place means you must keep your voice low. You need to be polite to others.

    I felt bad about this. Even though we tried our {#blank#}8{#/blank#} , it's very difficult to develop a new habit.

    Russians have their own special habits. My Russia friend, Andrey always looks around and thinks for a while before leaving home. I asked him why he did this. “Aha,” Andrey said, “in Russia, people always take about a minute {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  over things and plans in their minds before leaving. So they won't leave anything necessary behind.”

    Finding the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  between cultures is much fun. I'd like to keep my eyes and mind open.

    My classmates talked about the winter camp. Everyone was happy except (除……之外) me. I didn't {#blank#}1{#/blank#}to go skiing (滑雪) at all. I wanted to stay at home but my parents asked me to go.

    When arriving at the camp our coach (教练) asked us to ski I thought I skied {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

than others but I still didn't do a good job. Ha, Ha! behind me，someone started {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

 I looked back {#blank#}4{#/blank#}who was laughing at me. To my surprise, I saw a girl. She did as {#blank#}5{#/blank#}as me. "I thought I'd be bad at this, but it seems {#blank#}6{#/blank#}than I expected!" she said.

    The next day I didn't want {#blank#}7{#/blank#} skiing. But my coach chose me to be the first one to ski down the slope (斜坡).This time I {#blank#}8{#/blank#}I was flying and it was wonderful. After that I wasn't afraid anymore. And I didn't {#blank#}9{#/blank#}what other people thought of me. That day my coach said I skied the most beautifully of all.

    From this I learned that we should try our best {#blank#}10{#/blank#}every challenge (挑战).

    There is a big zoo in our city. In the zoo you can see many animals. Look! There is a big {#blank#}1{#/blank#}monkey there. Next to the monkey, there are two {#blank#}2{#/blank#}They are from Africa. They like{#blank#}3{#/blank#}in the water. Look! That is a panda. It is two years old. It is from Sichuan, China. It {#blank#}4{#/blank#}bamboo and other plants. There is also a tiger in the zoo. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}favourite food is meat.

A man was sitting in the doctor's office. He was telling the doctor about his {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. "I like football, Doctor. "He said, "Please help {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. My life has {#blank#}3{#/blank#}been a good one since I became {#blank#}4{#/blank#} in football and it is getting worse and {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. I can't even get away from it in my sleep. When I close my {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, I'm out there in the football field and running {#blank#}7{#/blank#}a flying ball. When I wake up, I'm more {#blank#}8{#/blank#} than I was before I went to bed. What am I going to do?" The doctor sat back and said, "{#blank#}9{#/blank#} of all, you have to do your best not to dream about football. Before you fall asleep, try to think about something else. Try to think that you are at a party and someone is going to give you several million dollars. "" Are you crazy（疯了）?"the man shouted {#blank#}10{#/blank#}，"I'll miss the ball !"
