John and Tina come from different countries. They are interested in Chinese food. They usually eat Chinese food in restaurants and often talk about it.

It's Saturday today and it's sunny. John asks Tina to have dinner at Ms. Brown's House. It's the first time that Tina goes there for dinner.

    "Hi, John. Are there different kinds of food at Ms. Brown's House?" Tina asks.

"Of course. There're all kinds of noodles  such as chicken and cabbage noodles, mutton and potato noodles, tomato and egg noodles and beef and carrot noodles," John says.

    "Sounds great! I like tomato and egg noodles very much," said Tina.

"Me, too. There are also delicious dumplings and specials. After dinner, we can have ice- cream and fruit. They are on sale."

    "Ice-cream? I know a new kind of ice-cream. It is delicious. And you can keep it for an hour."

    "Great! But there isn't any at Ms. Brown's House."

    "I know where to buy it. Let's go after dinner."

    "OK."

About 90% of the population in the world is right-handed, But according to a report, lots of famous people are left-handed. For example, American presidents such as George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are left-handed. So are Leonardo da Vinci , Bill Gates, Seven Jobs and so on. What does that mean? Are left-handed people smarter than the right-handed?

To answer this question, scientists studied 2,300 right-handed and left-handed students between the ages 6 and 17 in Italy. The students were asked to work out some math problems. There was no difference when they looked at the easier math problems. But left-handed students did better at the more difficult problems.

In fact, left-handedness has not always been seen in such a positive way. In the pamphlet(小册子) The Prevention and Correction of left-handedness in children written by J.W. Conway in 1936, left-handedness was described as a serious " lillness".

Prejudices(偏见)against left-handed people are built into our language. To be someone's " right-hand man" is good. It means you are a person who can help a lot.

But having "two left feet" or receiving a " left-handed compliment(赞扬)" is bad. The word itself comes from the old English. "lyft" mean weak or broken. These prejudices not only appear in English. The French word for left is "gauche" which means "awkward(笨拙的)"， while "droite", the French word for right , means "clever".

This famous poem（诗）, Happy Rain on a Spring Night, was written by Du Fu（712—770, the Tang Dynasty）when he was living and farming in Chengdu. His farming experience taught him to be thankful（感谢）to nature and it is shown in this poem. 

The very first word, "good", shows the poet's joy and love for the spring rain. The rain is good because it "knows" the proper time to come. Here the poet uses personification（拟人）, as if the rain was smart enough to come in time for the farmers' busy season. 

When the rain comes, it appears during the night without making any noise. Unlike the summer storms, the spring rain finishes its task without being known. 

In the third couplet（对句）, the poet describes a peaceful scene to us. In the night sky, the clouds look dark and heavy. It's a sign that there will be enough rain during the night. The light from the boat makes the dark scene a bit livelier. 

Lastly, the poet starts to imagine. Tomorrow morning, he thinks, the city of Chengdu will become beautiful when all of the flowers bloom after the rain.

Before going back to work one afternoon, Policeman Li took a big bite out of the red apple on his desk. He had no time to eat his lunch that day. He was busy dealing with a traffic accident report. 

It seemed that a man named Wang Jie had run a red light, running into another person's car. But he said that the light had been green when he drove across the crossing. 

Li decided to question Wang Jie again. Maybe he could get some more information about the accident. This time Wang Jie still insisted (坚持) that the light was green when he drove across the crossing. Li had no reason to doubt what Wang Jie said. He told Wang Jie that he was free to go. 

"Thank you so much, Policeman Li. By the way, that green apple on your desk looks delicious! I hope you enjoy it!" Wang Jie said with a smile. 

Li stopped for a moment and then said, "Wait. Sit back down. I think we need to talk some more."

What to pay attention to

 Sometimes coding cannot always work the way you want it to. Then, we can use AI for help. AI can help write or rewrite new texts for some website pages. But it is not a good idea to depend on it. A good website designer needs to be creative and explore new skills.

 Teenagers in our community between 10 to 15 can come. Our classes can let you learn more skills on the computer. You will have an interesting life during the holiday.
