One Friday night, a poor young man stood at a gate (大门) of the railway station(火车站). He played his violin and many people put money into the hat in front of him.

The next day, the young man came to the gate again, and put his hat on the ground. But different from what he always did in the past days, he took out a large piece of paper with some words in it and laid it on the ground. It said, "Last night, a gentleman put an important thing into my hat by mistake. Please come soon, Mr. Sang."

After about an hour, a middle-aged man ran to the young man in a hurry (匆忙) and said, "It's you! You do come here. I know that you're an honest (诚实的) man and will certainly come here," The young man asked, "Are you Mr. George Sang? Did you lose anything?" "A lottery (奖券) ticket," answered the middle-aged man. The young man took out a lottery ticket and gave it to the man.

The prize of the lottery ticket was $50,000. Yesterday when the middle-aged man learnt that he had won, he was very happy. He took out 50 dollars and put it in the hat. However, the lottery ticket was also thrown in.

Later, someone asked the young man, "You play the violin in the railway station every day to make money. Why didn't you just take the prize of the lottery ticket for yourself?" The young man said, "Although I don't have much money, I live happily. But if I lose honesty, I won't be happy forever (永远)."

What do you usually do on Saturday? I usually go to Michael's Farm (农场) to see my grandfather and my cousins on Saturday. Michael is just my grandfather's name. 

It's far from my home to Michael's Farm. This Saturday, my friends Eric and Jim go there with me. At 10: 00 am, we start off by bike. We take a lot of food and drinks with us because we want to have lunch on our way to the farm. First, we ride on Blue Road for one and a half hours. Next, we have lunch under a tree near a crossing. After lunch, we turn left at the crossing and ride on Sky Road for another (再一的) hour to get to my grandfather's farm. Along the way, we are tired (疲劳的) but happy. 

My grandfather lives in a big farmhouse. He is very happy to see us. We help him water vegetables, feed (喂) animals and do some cleaning. We play games with my cousins. My grandfather cooks lots of food for us. 

We have a good time with my grandfather and my cousins on Michael's Farm. The next morning, we ride back home.

I can't remember whether I was nine or ten years old. I remember that it was the last day of my 4-H camp. I was looking in the mirror and checking my face for bruises（瘀伤）. The day before, for some silly reason, I had a fight with another boy. My head was still sore. We hadn't talked since the fight, but only stared（盯） coldly at each other. 

Still, I was in a good mood（心情） in the morning because I knew my mom was bringing some of her homemade pizzas as a treat for my brother, me, and our friends. Soon, I saw her walking towards our room. She had been bringing these pizzas to us every 4-H camp for years. I saw her smile as my brother and his friends all picked up the big pieces. She saved the last two pieces for me. I thanked her with a smile and started to eat when I saw that boy standing off to the side by himself. At that moment, something moved my heart. I walked over to him and gave him one of the pieces. We talked, laughed and ate. And for some reason that I didn't understand at the time, the pizza tasted better than ever before. 

I can see now what moved my heart: A little miracle（奇迹） was working inside me. It was moving me to forgive（原谅）, to give, and to love. And I'm so happy that I followed that guidance.

The Dragon Boat Festival is on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. It was on 10th June in 2024. How does this festival come about?

Qu Yuan is a great poet of the State of Chu. He loves his country and people very much. And he gives many good ideas to his king. But the king doesn't listen to him. At last, the State of Qin conquers(战胜) Chu. Qu Yuan feels very sad. He jumps into the Miluo River in Hunan on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. The people of Chu also love Qu Yuan very much. From then on, people always show their love for Qu Yuan on that day. 

The dragon boat race is a very important part of the Dragon Boat Festival. Usually, a dragon boat is 20 to 30 metres long. And 20 to 30 people sit on each boat. To win the race, people in different groups row(划) their dragon- like boats as fast as they can. It's very exciting to watch!

People also eat zongzi on that day. Most people buy zongzi from shops but some old people like to make zongzi by themselves. They use bamboo leaves to wrap(包) rice and thread(线) to tie it. They also wrap other food in the leaves. People in different places have different tastes. In the south of China, most people like eating meat zongzi. In the north of China, people often put some sweet food in zongzi. 

Wormwood(艾草) is a kind of plant people use on the Dragon Boat Festival. People say it can help them keep healthy if they use it to clean their bodies. They also think wormwood can stop bad things from going into their houses, so people put wormwood on their doors. 

 In the Chinese-speaking world, there are some things that everyone knows about and has in common. A good example of this is Jin Yong and his great works.

 Jin Yong is the pen name of Cha Leung-yung. He was one of the most important and famous martial arts novelists(武侠小说家) in China. He passed away at 94 years old in Hong Kong. During his lifetime, Jin Yong wrote 15 martial arts novels. So far, more than 300 million copies of his books have been sold all over the world. It's just as the well-known saying goes,"Wherever there are Chinese, you will find Jin Yong's novels easily". His books have a great influence on Chinese, especially teenagers.

 With his books, Jin Yong created an imaginary world called Jianghu. In Jianghu, fighting heroes practice martial arts hard, protect the weak bravely and build up good examples for the young. But Jin Yong also used some stories from history and traditional Chinese culture to make this amazing world. His stoểes took place in different dynasties. He used Chinese poems and legends in his books as well. This makes his books rich, colorful and attractive,

 Jin Yong touched people's hearts through more than just his books. All of his novels have been made into movies, TV shows or video games. Most of them have been big hits. Lots of actors and actresses became famous because of his works.
