Long long ago, there was a beautiful little girl. She was 1because she had no family and no home. She only had her clothes and some bread. But she was very kind.

 A man asked her2she had something to eat. She gave him her3.

A child cried and told her that his 4was very cold. So she gave him her hat.

Then, she met a child with no coat. She gave him her coat.

One day, in the cold5forest, she met another child who

 6her dress. The little girl thought that it was dark and

7could see her, so she gave her dress away. At last, she had almost nothing: no family, nowhere to live, nothing to eat and little to wear.

8, stars fell from the sky. These stars became beautiful pieces of money. With the money, she9a new dress and a coat.

The little girl was rich for the10of her life and she still helped the people in need with her money.

     Although it was autumn, the snow was already beginning to fall in Tibet (西藏). Our legs were so heavy and cold that 1 felt like big pieces of ice. Have you 2 seen snowmen ride bicycles? That's what we looked like! Along the way children who were 3 long wool coats stopped to look at us. In the late4 we found it was so cold that our water bottles froze (结冰).However, the lakes   5 like glass in the setting sun and looked wonderful.

    Wang Wei rode in front of me as usual. She was in high spirit and I knew I didn't need to

    6 her. To climb the mountains was hard work but as we7 us, we were surprised by the view. We seemed to be able to see for miles, and we were so high that we found ourselves cycling through clouds. After a while, we began going 8 the mountains. It was great fun especially as it slowly became much 9. At the foot of the mountains, colourful butterflies flew around us and we saw many sheep eating green grass. Then we had to 10 our caps, gloves and trousers for T-shirts and shorts.

    In the early evening we stopped to make camps. We 11 our tent（帐篷）and then we ate. After supper Wang Wei went to sleep but I stayed 12.  13 midnight the sky became clearer and the stars grew brighter. As I 14 below the stars I thought about how far we had already travelled.

    We will reach Dali in Yunan Province soon, where our cousins will join us. We 15 hardly wait to see them!

    Maxime and Lise are a young French couple. They are ready to travel across China from Beijing to Yunnan Province on a tandem bicycle (双人自行车). They have two main purposes and one of them is that they want to encourage green 1 through it.

    Maxime, 26, works helping farmers raise their cows, 2his wife Lise, 26, is a teacher. The two also like sharing their travel stores on Facebook.

    We chose a tandem bicycle because it makes it 3 to communicate with each other about interesting people and things we come across during the journey. 4, bicycling is healthier. And it's a cheaper and more environment-friendly way of traveling than 5 cars, motors and so on, “the couple said.

When they were asked 7they chose to visit China, they said it was because they often talked about its long history and beauty and how much of the country is competitive (有竞争力的) in the world.

    A man was walking along the street when he saw a woman struggling(奋力前进) with a large box. It was half in and half1of her car. He was a helpful and kind man, so he went up to the woman and said, “Let me give you a hand with that box. It looks very2.”

    “That's very kind of you,” the woman said. “I'm having a lot of3with it. I think it's stuck(卡住).”“Together we'll soon move it,” the man said. He4into the back seat of the car and took hold of the other end of the box. He said, “I'm ready.” And he began to5hard.

    For several minutes the man and the woman struggled with the box. Soon they were6in the face.“Let's rest for a minute,” the man said. “I'm sorry, but it7stuck.” A few minutes later, the man said,“Let's try again. Are you ready?”8of them took hold of the box again. “One,two,three!” the man said,and they went on with their struggle.

    At last, when they were very tired, the man said,“You are9. It is really stuck. I don't think there's 10we can get it out of the car.” “Get it out of the car?” the woman cried, “I'm trying to get it in!”

    "Can I take your order?" Night after night, I had to say this when I worked in my family's restaurant. My father cooked well. He was a1cook in our town, Highville. He wanted me, his only son, to cook with him, but2didn't like cooking. Because of the restaurant, my father was always busy. He 3had time to play football with me.
