新目标(Go for it)版2018-2019学年初中英语九年级上册月考试题(一)(音频暂未更新)
Dear Cindy,
How are you?I had a great time last Monday, June 2th, 2014.It was a traditional Chinese festival (call) Dragon Boat Festival that day.
This festival is in memory of Qu Yuan, one of the greatest Chinese poets. He killed himself by (jump) into the Miluo River on May 5th of the lunar calendar, 278 BC. People there rowed the boats (save) him. But it was too late. They were very sad and then threw rice into the river to feed the fishes so that they would stay away from his body.
From then on, every year on this day, people enjoy making Zongzi which (make) of rice with meat, eggs and so on. In the past we (eat) it only once a year, but now we regard it as our daily food. We can have it any time we like.
Have you ever (watch) the dragon boat race on TV?It is another important part of this festival. Several teams row their dragon shaped boats as fast as they can. The first team to reach the finish line (win).
If you have a plan to visit China next year, would like to spend this festival with us?
Best wishes!
Yours,
Shen

To improve your English reading, you should, first of all, choose something you feel important or{#blank#}1{#/blank#} to read. Don't try to read everything. You should{#blank#}2{#/blank#} those written in easy English. Don't read those which is difficult for you at the very beginning.
While reading, don't read too slowly or look up every new word you meet with. After reading a passage and having its main idea in mind, you may{#blank#}3{#/blank#} and read it again. This time you can read it slowly and look up some new words {#blank#}4{#/blank#} necessary.
Keep on reading in this way and you'll surely make{#blank#}5{#/blank#} little by little.
