In 2017, the Chinese action movie Wolf Warrior 2 won a big success. It has received much attention and positive reviews after it was shown in China and oversea markets including Australia and the US. The film had earned about 5.68 billion yuan in China.

The major actor Wu Jing is also the director of the film, who played the role of Leng Feng, a soldier serving for China's Special Forces.

At the age of six, Wu Jing was sent to the Beijing Sports Institute at Shichahai. Both his father and grandfather were also martial artists. Like Jet Li before him, he competed as a member of the Beijing Wushu Team. Two years later, in 1982 he won the National Wushu Championship. He won first place in several national level Wushu competitions at the junior level and continued to compete as an adult.

Why has Wolf Warrior 2 gained so much popularity? Besides great scenes and wonderful performances, many Chinese were inspired by the patriotism of the Chinese soldier Leng Feng during the mission(任务). He couldn't finish the mission successfully without the love for our country.

举一反三

It is believed in some ways that the daughter is father's lover. But my experience has taught me in a different way. For a long time, my father has been a very vague figure(模糊的形象)to me. He was a man of few words, tall but slim and nothing else.

When I was in primary school, my father was never there to pick me up, and he never came to any of my parent-teacher meetings. He was always busy doing projects. I remember when I was in middle school and my head was badly hurt in a PE class. During my operation, my father was nowhere to be found. This hurt me most. At that moment, I considered my father as a cold-blooded man who did not care about me at all.

But things seemed different at my high school graduation ceremony, where I was chosen to represent my class and give a speech. My father, once again, told me he had a business trip in a place outside the city and would be unable to show up(露面).“Don't come. I will be very nervous if I see you,”I told him.

I remember my speech went smoothly. After the ceremony was over and I was about to leave. I suddenly noticed a familiar(熟悉的)looking man sitting in a corner of the hall. It was my father! I was so surprised that I rushed to him with tears(眼泪)running down my face. "Well done,"he said. His eyes were also filled with tears.

Later, I found out that my father had managed to finish his work by staying up late, and he drove for eight hours to get back. He had been sitting in the corner because he didn't want me to see him. My father remembered every word in my speech.

For much of my life, I described my father was a cold-blooded man who only cared about his work. But when I thought deeply about this, it was obviously(明显地)not true. At my graduation ceremony. I could feel my father's deep love. The fact is that seeing is not believing, and seeing may not be the fact if we don't perceive(感知)the world with our hearts and minds. There's no doubt that life doesn't lack(缺少)love, but sometimes our eyes have trouble seeing it.

On a British Airways flight from Johannesburg, a middle-aged ,rich white South American lady found herself sitting next to a black man. She called the cabin stewardess(机舱乘务员)over to complain about her seating.
“What seems to be the problem, Madam?” asked the stewardess.
“Can't you see?”she said. “You've sat me next to a black man. I can't possibly sit next to this kind of human. Find me another seat!”
“Please calm down, Madam,” the stewardess replied. “The flight is very full today, but I'll tell you what I'll do—IWill go and check to see if we have any free seats in Club(商务舱)or First Class.”
The lady had an unfriendly look at the outraged(被激怒的)black man beside her.
A few minutes later the stewardess returned and said to the lady with a self –satisfied smile, “I'm sorry, Madam, this Economy(经济舱)is full, and Club is also full. However, we do have one seat in First Class.”
The lady could not help looking at the people around her. But before she had a chance to get up or make any answer, the stewardess continued , “ We seldom make this kind of upgrade(升级),however, and I had to report it to the captain(机长).When the captain heard this,he said that it was not proper to make someone sit next to such an obnoxious(令人讨厌的)person.” Having said that, the stewardess turned to the black man sitting next to the lady, and said, “So if you'd like to get your things, sir, I have a seat ready for you…”
At this time, the people around stood up and clapped their hands. The black man walked up to the front of the plane. That was an unforgettable flight for me, for I was the black man who had never flown First Class before.
