In Africa, when the antelope（羚羊）wakes up every morning, the first thing {#blank#}1{#/blank#} comes into his mind is, “I must be able to run {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (fast) than the fastest lion,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} I will be killed by a lion.” And at just the same time, the lion{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (wake) out of his dream, and the first thingflashing into his mind is: “I must be able to catch up {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the slowest a ntelope, otherwise I will starve to{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (dead).” So almost at the same moment{#blank#}7{#/blank#} the antelope and the lion jump to their feet, and start{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (run) toward the rising sun.

    Such is life whether you are an antelope {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a lion, you ought to dash forward without hesitation when the sun {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (rise).

    The lion is a special animal to Chinese people. A pair of stone lions, a male and a female, are {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (common) seen in front of the gates of traditional buildings.

    The lion {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (regard) as the king in the animal world so it represents power. The stone lions are also used to indicate the ranks of {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(official).

    It is interesting to note that China had no lions originally. The earliest stone lions were sculpted{#blank#}4{#/blank#} the beginning of Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD) with{#blank#}5{#/blank#}introduction of Buddhism into ancient China. In the Buddhist faith, the lion{#blank#}6{#/blank#}can protect the Truth and keep off evils, is considered a holy animal of nobleness and dignity. In Chinese folk tales, the lion has become a symbol of {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(brave), power and good luck.

    It was also popular{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(decorate) bridges with sculpted stone lions for the same reason. The {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(well)known of this is the Lugouqiao (also as Marco Polo Bridge){#blank#}10{#/blank#} (build) from 1189 to 1192. A famous proverb says, “The lions on the Lugouqiao are uncountable.”

    When I first heard about the Belt and Road Initiative (“一带一路”倡议). I thought about something simple and straightforward — like a fragrant cup of tea.

    For centuries, tea has brought {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(culture), communities, and people closer together. In the past centuries, tea {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(connect) economies through trade and investment. The Belt and Road Initiative holds a similar promise, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}is about connecting cultures, communities, economies, and people. It is about awaking ancient trade routes and {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(build) new ones. It is also about adding new economic flavors by creating infrastructure (基础建设) projects based on 21st century expertise and standards. Delivering on this promise is not an easy task, {#blank#}5{#/blank#}doing so could bring great benefits.

    First, high-quality infrastructure could help stimulate potential global {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (grow), and raise the incomes of millions of people. As the Chinese proverb {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (go), “To become rich, one must first build roads.” A second benefit is greater inclusiveness. Think of {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(improve) roads in rural areas that can boost productivity and access to health services. By sharing the benefits of investment and knowledge more broadly, improvement will be {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(strong) and more inclusive. A third benefit is stronger economic cooperation. This would help boost global trade, investment, and financial cooperation, making {#blank#}10{#/blank#} easier to share the benefits of growth more widely. All this is good for consumers, good for productivity, and good for poverty reduction.

    Last week, our yearly school sports meeting {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(hold) and the students of our class took {#blank#}2{#/blank#}active part in it. On the first day, we watched the impressive opening ceremony {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(perform) by energetic teachers and students. Soon, the games formally began. Some of my classmates ran to the track to cheer for the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（athlete）while others remained {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(seat), watching them from a distance.     The 7th CISM Military World Games(世界军运会)will take place from Oct. 18 {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Oct. 27，2019 in Wuhan, capital city of {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(centre)China's Hubei Province.

    The games，the top sports gala for military personnel(军人), include 329 competition events of 27 kinds , {#blank#}3{#/blank#} are expected to attract around 8000 players from more than 100 {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (country)and regions.

    The games will be an international event with great importance and far-reaching influence and it will also be {#blank#}5{#/blank#} opportunity for foreign military personnel {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(learn) more about China and its military.

    The event's emblem(会徽)is made up of a dove, a star, ribbons and other elements and the mascot is called Bing Bing, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} design is based on the Chinese sturgeon(鲟), a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (serious)endangered fish known as the "panda in water". The slogan is "Military glory，world peace".

    The games, which {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (hold)in Rome in 1995 for the first time, are a multi-sport event {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (organize)every four years by the CISM.
