Keeping a diary in English is one of the effective ways (improve) our English writing ability. Compared with other forms of writing, it is shorter and (take)less time. It can help us to develop the habit of thinking in English. we keep practicing, gradually we'll learn how to express ourselves in English. In keeping a diary in English, we (certain) run up against many (difficult). In the first place, often happens that we have trouble (find) suitable words and phrases to give expression to our mind. Secondly, there are many idiomatic ways of saying things in Chinese. And it is extremely hard for us to put them into English properly.

As far as I am concerned, my (suggest) is that we should always have a notebook and a Chinese-English dictionary within easy reach. Whenever something beats us, we can first put it down in our notebook and then look it up in our dictionary. We can also turn our English teacher for help, if necessary. In short, I believe that it is of great use to keep a diary in English for development of our writing skills.

The word Nushu literally means "women's writing" in Chinese: As the name suggests, Nushu is created and specially used by women.

Often {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(call) "the world's only surviving characters for women", these slim words were developed from standard written Chinese. In the old days, Nushu {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(teach)by elderly women to girls at home because female children weren't allowed {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(attend)formal school. During gatherings in villages, women used the characters to write poems or song lyrics to express their emotions {#blank#}4{#/blank#} were hidden from men. The words were full {#blank#}5{#/blank#} encouragement and positive energy, and showed an uncommon open-mindedness among women at that time.

Ji Xianlin once said that Nushu is a feminist(女权主义者)symbol. "It's {#blank#}6{#/blank#} unique writing system created by {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(talent)women who were deprived(剥夺)of the right to education," he wrote in an article. "It has significance in various {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(field)and represents Chinese people's strong spirit."

Nushu was made as a national cultural heritage in 2006. However, it is not {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(wide)used in daily life today. In fact, it is a dying language. Now linguists are taking action to prevent this incredible cultural heritage from {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(disappear).

How to achieve a healthy lifestyle

We all know that it is good to live a healthy life. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (live) a healthy life means we should eat healthy food. Yet for many of us keeping a healthy lifestyle is very difficult. Part of this is because we are creatures of habit.

So if you want {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (live) a healthy life, you have to change your habits that are not so healthy. In order to feel less tired, you have to replace your habit of sleeping only 4 hours a day with sleeping at least 6 hours a day.

Now when most people decide to live a more healthy life, they try to deal with all of their habits all at once. Take losing weight {#blank#}3{#/blank#} example. They go on {#blank#}4{#/blank#} quite strict diet, and yes, they do lose weight, sometimes a lot of weight in a short period. But they do not really change their eating habits. So these people often notice they will gain the weight {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and more even, once they stop the diet.

And the same holds true for these people. They start exercising in order to lose weight or to overcome a physical problem. Once the weight has been lost or the problem has been overcome, many stop {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (exercise). It has not become a habit.

In fact, a lot of people don't look forward to {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (create) these habits, such as eating breakfast, regular physical exercise and enough sleep. People complain these habits are so {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (bore) and difficult to achieve that they have {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (little) time to spend on things they like to do. So people should change their attitudes first. What if you thought of chocolate as a kind of boring food? What if you thought of physical exercise as something {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (relax)?
