    I'd like you to know that I appreciate everything you've done for me, such as teaching me, taking care of me, and loving me.

    I'm writing this thank-you letter, Mom and Dad, because I want you to know what a big 1 you have truly made in my life. You   2 me so many things about the world and myself. You were the first ones to tell me about the importance of 3 by telling me it was 4 to refuse all my other playmates from using my toys.     Tim, my seven-year-old son, is learning to play the drums. It is an 1 that has always caught his attention 2 he hears them played. Before I3 his first lessons, drums were all he wanted. At the age of 3 he 4 his mini drum set during a show. Using that same drum set he perfected the timing and rhythm of a popular church song 5enough for his mom to sing along to. My son had found his passion at a young age and Had a natural 6 to catch on quickly. Wanting to act quickly to 7 his talent, I immediately signed him up for drum lessons. No sooner had my first payment cleared than his passion 8. He did not want to take instructions. He wanted to play the drums 9. To him the drums were a way of 10. Ian wanted to "play the beat of his own drum."

    The challenge was that music has more than one 11.     It's a Friday morning in Boston, which1Dr. Jim O'Connell is making his rounds. He might be more2inside an exam room, but that's not where his patients are. Dr. Jim O'Connell is one of a handful of physicians making house calls to the3in the city.

    More than 550, 000 Americans are homeless, and many have health problems but no4to cure. O'Connell and his team are doing something about it. On a daily routine, they5about 700 regular patients. "I feel like I'm a country doctor in the middle of the city." he said.

    O'Connell began to do this 33 years6, when he was at Harvard Medical School and was7to be a one-year position as the founding physician of a new health-care program for Boston's homeless. That turned into a 33-year8at the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, one of the country's largest of its kind. O'Connell9about everything, from stitches (缝补)for an arm to surgery for the soul. If patients can't be treated on the street, he finds them a treatment bed at the respite facility(休息治疗区), a place for patients10are too sick to be on the streets11not ill enough for a hospital stay.

    "12I had been taught to do—go fast, be efficient—was13when you take care of homeless people." When you see somebody outside, you get them a cup of coffee and sit with them.     The daughter of two "extremely intelligent and very, very hardworking" doctors, Katherine originally had plans to follow in her parents' footsteps. She told a careers adviser that her first 1 was medicine, followed by politics. The third on her list of career choices was musical theatre. "Even though those first two 2 were very different, I always want to do something that was going to make a difference," she said.

    By the time she 3 from high school, Katherine knew she wanted to be an actress. But she was 4 by every acting school, in that she was too young and didn't have enough life 5. So she 6 teaching herself everything she could about the craft. At the end of that year, some managers from the US visited Australia. She was asked to 7 an audition tape. The next day the managers called her to say they wanted her to audition. Needless to say she 8 it. Katherine 9 a school student Hannah who committed suicide in 13 Reasons Why. And she 10 a Golden Globe nomination for the role. Hannah's life, Katherine admitted, was 11 easy. "Luckily for me, my high school experience was very 12 to Hannah's. I went to a gifted and talented school, and I got 13 from a group of friends," she said.

    This year Katherine 14 in her film Love, Simon, which is another coming-of-age drama, this time 15 bullying. "What 16 me about Love, Simon was it's not a high school movie; it's a love story. There were so many narratives that felt 17 yet unique, just because of the way they were written and the way I felt they were portrayed," she said.

    Being thrust into the public eye so suddenly and so early in her career has meant a 18 learning line for Katherine, who now finds herself walking the red carpet at Hollywood events and being approached by strangers in the street. Despite being involved in such a massive hit, she's not particularly 19 in the size of her following on social media. She said, "For me, it doesn't matter how many followers I have, but if my followers love the show and I'm able to interact with them, that is the biggest 20."

    Flying on a plane for the first time can be frightening. It can be extra 1 for children who have autism (自闭症). When Linda Diaz was 2 a vacation to Disney World four years ago, she wanted to make flying a 3 experience for her son, Andy, who has autism.

    She called Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport (MSP) to see what could be done. 4, the airport didn't have programs to help Andy. So Diaz 5 the family's flights and 6 drove 1, 500 miles to Orlando, Florida.

    Soon after that drive to Disney World, a program started at MSP. It is to help make flying 7 for kids like Andy. The program is called Navigating MSP. It holds 8 every month for anyone who has 9 about flying. The program is not 10 for people with autism. Airline workers help 11 get used to the airport and planes. It helps them to be less frightened of flying. When they 12 fly, they are not as worried.

    When Andy was 13 years old, his first 13 ride was planned. He went through a practice with his family. George Callow, an officer at the airport, helped the family through the safety checks. Callow said the visiting families got on a plane, 14 it was not going anywhere. It was just for them to 15.

    After the last family arrived, the pilot greeted the families over the speaker, "Welcome aboard our flight to 16." After greeting the pilot and flight attendants, passengers went to their 17. But Andy had other plans. Frightened by his new surroundings, he ran down the aisle (走廊) of the plane, 18 a way out. Volunteers suggested that Andy might be most 19 in the front row. They were 20. Once seated, Andy was quiet and kissed his mother on the face. He felt better about flying now.

    Tears clouded my eyes as I stood in our washing room, holding Brett's jeans and shirt full of burn holes.

    Tired and defeated, I 1 to the floor. The clothes were just one more thing Brett had 2. He often got almost everything in the house out of 3. Many windows in our house needed repair due to his breaking 4 to steal money when he chose to live on the street. Yet none of this could 5 the emotional damage Brett had done to our once quiet home.

    When Brett was nearly 18, he landed again in Juvenile Hall (少管所). After that, my husband and I had to send Brett to a boarding school for helping 9 teens.

    At the 10  ceremony, each graduate held a white rose to give to the person who had 11 the most to him or her.

    Brett spoke 12 to his parents and then spoke to me, "You did so much. You were always there. No matter what my mom and dad, I was their 13. But you, although 14 enough by me, always 15 me such love. And I want you to know I love you for it."
