A group of classmates got together to visit their old teacher. These classmates all had good jobs and made lots of money. They talked {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.The teacher asked them the difficulty they had had. Then their talk soon turned to talking about the stress (d压力) in work and life, The teacher went to {#blank#}2{#/blank#}kitchen and came back with a large pot of coffee and many{#blank#}3{#/blank#}—China ones, plastic ones and glass ones. Some are plain looking, some are expensive and some are lovely. The teacher told them to help{#blank#}4{#/blank#} to the coffee.

    When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the teacher said,“ Can you notice that all of you took nice-looking expensive cups, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones? You want only the{#blank#}5{#/blank#}for yourselves, and it is the source of your problems.”

    “What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup{#blank#}6{#/blank#} you went for the best cups and then began looking at each other's cups.”

    “Now{#blank#}7{#/blank#} about this; life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and position in society {#blank#}8{#/blank#}the cups. They are just tools to hold, and do not change the life. Sometimes, by caring only about the cups, we{#blank#}9{#/blank#} to enjoy the coffee.{#blank#}10{#/blank#} don't let the cups drive you, and enjoy the coffee instead.”

W: What do you like to do in your free time, John?

M: I'm {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in listening to music.

W: Oh, what kind of music do you like best?

M: Well, I like {#blank#}2{#/blank#}music that helps me relax after work. What about you? What do you usually do on your weekends?

W: I like watching movies. If you are free, would you like to watch a movie with me this weekend? The director is really famous.

M: Hmm,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} which movie. I only like movies that are funny. I just want to laugh and not think too much. You know what I mean?

M: What's the movie about?

    Life is not easy, so I'd like to say "When anything happens, believe in yourself."

    When I was a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} boy, I was too shy to talk to anyone. My classmates often laughed at me. I was sad but could do nothing. Later, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} happened, and it changed my life. It was an English speech contest. My mother asked me to take part in it. How {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the idea is! It meant I had to speak before all the teachers and students of my school!

    "Come on, boy. Believe in yourself. You are sure to win." Then mother and I talked about many different topics. At last I {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the topic "Believe In Yourself". I tried my best to remember all the speech and practised it over one hundred times.

    With my mother's great love, I did well in the contest. I could hardly believe my ears when the news came that I had won the first prize.

    This term we have a new English teacher from Australia, Mr Green. He teaches very well and is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to us.

    Last Sunday some of my classmates and I went to visit him. He cooked some Australian food for us. We taught him {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to use chopsticks and the way of making dumplings.

    He had an interest in making Chinese food. He also told us a lot of western customs(习俗). For example, when they have dinner in a restaurant together, they {#blank#}3{#/blank#} keep quiet.

    When it was time for us to leave, I said to him, "Come to my home for dinner when you have time." He looked happy and asked, "When?" But {#blank#}4{#/blank#} fact, I was just to be polite. From that, we could see the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} from country to country.
