My father is at home

    One fine afternoon John plays football in front of a house with his friends. A young woman comes up and asks him,"John, is your father at home?"  "Yes, he is. He is reading a book in his bedroom." Answers John. Then the young woman goes over to press the bell. The bell rings and rings, but no one comes to open the door. The young woman gets angry and calls to him, "You tell me your father is at home, don't you.'?"  "Yes, my father is at home. But my home isn't here."

    Good morning. This is the world weather report. It's warm in Beijing today. Children can play football outside. It's cold in New York. And it's snowy. Children can make a snowman. It's cool in Toronto. Children can fly a kite. It's hot in Sydney. Children can swim in the sea.

    An old woman lived in the country. She had three sons. They were Kim, Mike and John.They left home to make money and became rich soon. This year they came back together on Mother's Day. Each of them had a gift for their mother.

    Kim bought a big and beautiful house for mum. Mike sent her a car. John's gift was a parrot that could speak to mum.

    Several days later, mum sent them letters of thanks:

    “Kim,” she wrote to one son, “ the house you bought is so large. I live in one room, but I have to clean the whole house.”

    “Mike,”she wrote to another, “I am too old to travel. I spend most of the time at home, so I don't use the car.”

    “Dearest John,”she wrote to her third son, “you really know what I like. The chick was delicious. Thanks.”

    Hello, my name is Jack. I am a student. I have all uncle and an aunt. This is my uncle. He's a tall man. His name is Tim Black. He is 26 years old. He is a firefighter. He's brave. He can run very fast. He's very strong. The lady is my aunt. Her name is Louise Brown. She's thin and tall. She is a singer. She can sing very well. She can dance, too. She's thirty years old. She has many fans. They all like her very much.

John: What's he like?

Chen Jie: Tall and strong. He's active.

What Is My Job?

    Jim, Sam, Linda and I live in a building with four floors. We live on different floors. We have different jobs : one is a driver, one is a manager(经理) ,one is painter and one is a writer. I live above( 在……上面)Linda but below (在……下面)Jim. Sam lives on the fourth floor. The driver lives above the manager but below the writer. The painter lives on the first floor. Do you know who I am and what my job is?
