I have a happy family. My father is an engineer. He likes watching football. My mother is a teacher. She teaches English at school. She likes designing clothes. Mary is my sister. She likes singing and dancing. I have a pet dog. He likes playing with balls.

    Little Tom is a naughty boy. He doesn't like school very much. He likes playing games at home.

    Last Monday Tom's parents went out for a trip. Little Tom didn't want to go to school. He got up late. He had an egg and some bread for breakfast. Then he wanted to play computer games at home.

    But first he called the teacher. He pretended(假装) to be his father and said in a low voice, "Hello! Is that Tom's teacher speaking? My little Tom has a bad cold today. The doctor says he has to stay in bed. So he can't go to school today. He wants me to ask you for a day's leave."

    The teacher was very surprised. It was not like a man's voice. That sounds like Tom. So she asked, "Who is that speaking?" "It's my father, Madam," answered Tom.

Xiaoling: What do you do on the weekend?

Mike: I usually read books. Sometimes I go shopping. What about you?

Xiaoling: Usually I go shopping. Sometimes I visit my grandparents.

Tom: I often play football, but not this weekend.

Xiaoling: Why?

Tom: The weather report says it's going to rain this Sunday.

Jiamin: I usually play music on the weekend. But my music teacher is ill.

Xiaoling: Why don't we watch TV together?

Children: Good idea!

    Tom is in the park with his mother. They are rowing a boat on the lake. Suddenly(突然地), they see some ducks on the lake, and the ducks are coming now. The ducks are very naughty! They are feeding ducks some bread. And they are very happy.

    I've got a new pen friend. His name is John. He is a handsome boy. He likes to play games. He has lots of hobbies. And his favourite hobby is collecting stamps. He has many kinds of stamps. Some are from the UK, some are from the US, and some are from Canada. He sends some to me, and I send some Chinese stamps to him, because we have the same hobby.
