I want to tell you about a very exciting holiday I had. Last December I went to the Ice Hotel with my father. It was in a village of Sweden. 

It was a special hotel made of ice and snow. I read an interesting report about this hotel in a travel magazine and I showed it to my father. He was so excited that we decided to go. 

It was like a dream. We were so surprised. Everything was made of ice. A woman at the door gave us special coats and gloves. We could use them to protect ourselves in the very cold place. There was a garden at the hotel. There we saw a lot of nice sculptures (雕塑). Some artists came to the Ice Hotel and they made them with ice. In the evening we ate at the hotel restaurant. They put the food on ice plates. We had some fantastic fish and a delicious dessert. Of course, it was ice cream!

There was a nice shop there too. I bought a sweater and a cap, but I didn't buy many things because they were very expensive. In the shop, I met a girl named Catherine. She is from France. She wanted to buy a sweater, but she didn't speak English, so I helped her. We became friends. Yesterday I got an email from her with several photos she took at the hotel. It was really a fantastic holiday.

According to a research, more than 130 billion pounds of uneaten food go to waste in Laura's country each year. That is about 30% of the yearly food supply(供应). It is a sad fact, especially when you consider how many families and homeless people are in hunger.

When Laura saw her school dining hall throw away food that was not eaten at all every day, she came up with an idea. She started a project to help her school dining hall to give away uneaten food to homeless shelters(庇护所) in her community. In the past three years, the same project has spread to other schools and some fast food restaurants throughout the city. The project is called Feed & Find, and has already fed thousands of people in her city.

How does it work? Through an app, Feed & Find matches local homeless shelters with school dining halls and restaurants that have uneaten food to provide. When dining halls or restaurants have uneaten food left, they can use the app to share the information about the food. A truck driver working for the project is then sent to pick it up and take it to a shelter.

Pretty cool, right? It's not surprising that people in other cities have got in touch with Laura, hoping that she could help develop similar projects for their communities.

Some people, however, have concerns about the safety of the uneaten food. They think such food may not be clean enough. Still, this

project is a clever way to help solve the problem of food waste and it helps those in need.

There is a Chinese idiom(习语)" taolimantianxia", referring to a teacher who has taught so many students that they spread across the country like peach and plum(李子) trees. Why are students compared to these two types of trees?

The id iom comes from Zizhi, an official( 大臣) who lived in the state of Wei during the Spring and Autumn Period(BC770-BC476). Zizhi was a knowledgeable person. But he was not well liked by the king at the time, so he had to leave his state. To make a living, he opened a private school and started to teach students.

As a teacher, Zizhi was kind and wise. He chose students regardless of(不论) their wealth or social status(社会地位). He often pointed at a peach and a plum tree in his yard when asking his students to work hard." You should become a useful person and do work to benefit(使受益) society, just like when the peach and plum trees bloom and yield(产出) fruit," he said.

Keeping these words in their minds, many of Zizhi's students went on to different places around the country, achieving great things along the way. They would plant peach and plum trees to show their respect for their teacher.

When Zizhi traveled around the country and saw his students and the trees they planted, he was very pleased." My students are like peach and plum trees. They are everywhere, and they have achieved great results."

Since then," peach and plum trees" has been used to refer to students who have been successful in their post- study careers.

Hello, everybody!I am Kevin. I am a student of Nanhai Middle School. My school is very beautiful. I study in Class Two, Grade Seven. 

Look, there is a map of our school on the wall. There are four buildings and five gardens in our school. In the gardens, there are a lot of beautiful flowers, grass and trees. 

There is a big playground in my school. It is in the middle of the school. 

On the left of the playground, there is a building. It's the library. On the first floor, there are two big reading rooms. I like reading there very much. I often borrow books from the library too. 

There is a teaching building behind the library. We study in that building. My classroom is on the second floor in it. The science room, the computer room and the music room are all on the fifth floor. The teachers' offices are in that building too. 

Where is the sports hall? Oh, it's on the right of the playground. We often have PE lessons in the sports hall. The canteen is a building behind the sports hall. We have lunch and dinner in the canteen. 

I like my school because my school is very beautiful. In the school, I feel very happy. 

When I was told that my family decided to move from the only home that I had ever known, I ran into the garden and sat alone, crying, as tears were from my heart. Suddenly I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. It was my grandfather. 

"It isn't easy, is it, Billy?" he said softly, sitting down on the steps beside me. 

"Grandpa, "I replied through my tears, "how can I ever say goodbye to you and all my friends?"
