A farmer had a brother in town. His brother was  good gardener and had the finest apple trees in the town.

    One day the gardener gave the farmer a good apple tree  asked him to plant it. The workers  (take) the tree to the farmer's house. The next morning the farmer began  (think) about where he should plant it.

    "If I plant it  the hill," he said to  (he), "the wind might blow down the delicious fruit before it is ripe (成熟的). If I plant it near the road, people  (see) it and pick apples. But if I plant it near the door of my house, the children may pick them."

    At last he planted the tree behind his house. But it didn't bear any apples.

    He told the gardener about that  (sad). The gardener laughed and said, "You have planted the tree where it  (be) exposed to cold winds, and it can't get the sun there.  could you get flowers and fruit? You have planted the tree with a greedy (贪婪的) heart and how could you get a good harvest?"
