Tyler Thompson is{#blank#}1{#/blank#}unlikely star in the world of Peking opera. The 15-year-old from Oakland has fascinated audiences in the U.S. and China with his ability{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(sing) pitch-perfect Mandarin(普通话) and perform the ancient Chinese art form. The teen,{#blank#}3{#/blank#}is black and only speaks some basic Chinese, has been praised by teachers since he{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(pick) up the music as a kindergartner. “As soon as he opens{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(he) mouth and sings in Chinese, the Chinese are very surprised and they feel very proud of him,” said his music teacher. “When he puts on the costume, and all the acting, you can see that he is pretty good.”

    Tyler has learned to sing several well-known pieces of Peking opera, a centuries-old form of musical theater{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(know) for its highly structured costumes, changing gongs(锣) and cymbals(钹), wide-ranging voices and highly stylized{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(move). Tyler got{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(stand) cheers when he performed{#blank#}9{#/blank#}Justice Bao, a famous Song Dynasty judge who fought corruption, from the Chinese classic Bao Qing Tian. “The music is very beautiful, and it's very passionate,” said Tyler, “It's made me want to know{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(much) about the world outside of America or California or Oakland.”

    Few people would even think of beginning a new job at the age of 76, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} one of America's most famous artists did just that. Anna Mary Robertson, better known as "Grandma Moses"（摩西奶奶）, turned to painting {#blank#}2{#/blank#}she was too old to work on her farm. Grandma Moses was crazy about {#blank#}3{#/blank#} （paint） soon after she picked it up and worked hard at it. She painted {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(care) and her work were nice.     My friend had a chance to make a trip to Hong Kong{#blank#}1{#/blank#} August 15, 2015. He had dreamed about {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (visit) it since his boyhood and it was the first time that he{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (be) there. The following was what he had seen.

    Man Kaur started running in 2009, {#blank#}1{#/blank#}she was in her 90s and began racking up medals. At 103, Man Kaur is not only going strong, she's getting others to follow in her footsteps as well.

    India's oldest female athlete is spending her summer {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(coach) 30 young athletes. Kaur and her 81-year-old son and trainer, Gurdev Singh, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (invite) for two weeks to several universities, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}their methods made such an improvement in the students' performance that they were asked {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(stay) through September.

    This invitation came on the heels of Kaur's participation in the World Masters Athletics Championships in Poland earlier this year, where she {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(win) gold in all four events. Though she was the only {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(compete) in her age category for all four events, for the 60-meter dash, she had company from other categories: two 85-year-olds and three 90-year-olds. Though they weren't competing for the prize in her age bracket, they ran alongside her and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (eventual) ahead of her.

    Ten years after she first started running, Kaur still loves it, according to her son. "She enjoys {#blank#}9{#/blank#}company of her admirers," her son adds. "Every time she participates, she feels proud that people around the world feel {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(inspire)."
