Our English teacher was like a friend to us, and we all liked her. One day she came 1 the classroom and shouted, “Who did this?” She held up a piece of broken glass and asked, “Who 2 the window?” She seldom became angry. 3 this time she was.

    I broke the window. I had done that  4 throwing a baseball. I didn't want to admit (承认) it 5 I didn't have enough money to pay for a big window 6 that .“My father will be 7,”I thought. At first I didn't put up my hand, but later something strong in my heart suddenly made me 8 up. “I did it,” I said. How difficult it was for me to say that!

    My teacher 9 a book from one of our book shelves and then began walking towards my desk. I was afraid that she was going to punish(惩罚) me.

    “I know you like collecting 10 very much,” she said, looking down at my 11 face. “Here is the book about collecting stamps that you are looking for. Now, the book is 12 and I shall not punish you. Remember, it's because you 13 the truth.”

    I couldn't believe it! My teacher wasn't punishing me. I didn't 14 to pay for the broken window. And I got my favourite book!

     15 time goes, the book is gone, so is my wonderful teacher. But I will never forget the lesson the teacher gave me that day.

    Last winter vacation, my brother got a set of bedroom furniture for his thirteenth birthday. When it arrived, I helped my parents moved the 1  furniture to the garage（车库）. It was still in good condition. I thought it might be a chance for us to2 someone in our community. I started to search neighbors, anyone who 3 a bedroom set. Finally, my mom helped me call the local primary school. They told me about Jaila, the daughter of a poor single mother. I was given a telephone number and 4 and I soon found myself at Jaila's.

    The moment I went into Jaila's room, I knew I had taken on too big a task. When I pushed the old door open, it made a long high noise. But the door was nothing compared with the rest of the room.     That day I spent at least an hour looking around and 8how I could possibly fixed the room. I had never painted a wall, let alone fixed a floor. The second day, I returned with a large group of helpers — my close friends. We went to collect everything needed door to door in our community. We replaced and repainted Jaila's room. We sweated in Jaila's house for more than ten hours every day that week.

    The moment we finished, we called Jaila into the room. She jumped, laughed and hugged each of us. I turned to Jaila's mother, and saw she had tears running down her face.

    "Anna," Jaila called my name 9Yes？""Welcome to my new room!"

    When we saw how happy Jaila and her mother were, our tiredness disappeared into thin air. We are really10 to make a special experience of changing someone's life.

    Once upon a time, there was 1 old farmer. He loved money very much. He kept a lot of gold coins(金币)but 2 used them; he 3 not give them to others. He put them into a 4 box and put it in the ground. He came to the 5 every day to look at it. This made him happy.

    I have a friend named Monty Roberts who owns a horse ranch (牧场).He has let me use his ranch to raise money for youth at risk programs.

    The last time I was there he told me his story. When he was young, his family is too 1 to have a house to live in. When he was in high school, he was asked to write a paper about 2 he wanted to be and do when he grew up. That night he wrote a seven-page paper describing his goal of someday 3 a horse ranch. He wrote about his dream in great 4 and he even drew a picture to show a 4,000-square-foot house that would sit on a 200-acre dream ranch. The next day he handed it in to his teacher. Two days later he received his paper back. On the front page was a large red F with a note that read, "See me after class." Roberts went to see the teacher and asked, "Why did I receive an F?" His teacher said, "This is a(an) 5 dream for a young boy like you. Having a horse ranch requires a lot of money. There's no way you could ever do it." Then the teacher added, "If you will rewrite this paper with a more possible goal, I will reconsider your 6."

    The boy went home and thought about it for a 7 and hard time. He asked his father what he should do. His father said, "Look, son, you have to 8 your own mind on this." Finally, after sitting with it for a week, the boy turned in the same paper, making no 9 at all.  He told his teacher," You could keep the F and I will 10 keep my dream."

    Monty tells me this story because I am sitting in his 4,000-square-foot house in the middle of his 200-acre horse ranch. He said kids' dreams can be stolen. Don't let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what.

    On March 14th 2018, one of science's 1 stars went dark. Stephen Hawking, the world-famous British scientist, died at 76 in Cambridge, UK.

    Hawking 2 by many people to be the greatest scientist in history since Albert Einstein. He came up with the theory that the universe began with the Big Bang(爆炸) and 3 in black holes. His theories became the base for a lot of later research. Common people are also curious about the space. So he wrote books to help 4understand the universe. His most famous book is Brief History of Time, which has sold more than 10 million copies around the world, according CNN.

When Hawking was 21, he was diagnosed (诊断) with7 serious illness that stopped him from walking and talking.     Mr. Robinson had to travel somewhere on business, and as he was in a hurry, he decided to go by1. He liked sitting2a window when he was flying, so he got onto the plane and looked for a window seat. He3all of them taken except one. There was a young man4beside it, and Robinson was surprised that he had not taken the one by the window. Anyhow, he went towards it.

    When he5it, however, he saw that there was a notice on it, written6large letters, 7"This seat is kept for proper balance. Thank you. "Mr. Robinson had never seen such a notice before, but he thought the plane must be carrying 8 particularly heavy in its room which made it necessary to have the passengers properly balance. So he walked on and found9empty seat, not beside the window10.

    Two or three other people11to sit in the window seat next to the young man, but they also read the notice and went on. Then when the plane was nearly12a very beautiful girl13into the plane.
