Mr. Brown lives in a nice house in a small town with his wife (妻子), Mrs. Brown. From Monday to Friday. He works in an office near his house. He is free on Saturdays and Sundays. He has a nice garden beside his house. He likes growing flowers and he often works in the garden on Saturdays and Sundays. The flowers are very beautiful and Mrs. Brown likes them very much. She often helps Mr. Brown.

    I'm Linda. I'm in Grade Six now. I am busy these days. When l was young. I had so much time. I got up at 7 o'clock and went to school on foot. After school, I usually played games with my friends or sang songs together. I didn't have so much homework. But now I get up early, then I go to school by bike and stay at school all day. Then I go home and eat dinner. In the evening, I watched TV with my parents before, but now I have to study. I do my homework and go to bed. I really miss the old days.

Mrs. Black: Get up, David. It's time for breakfast.

David: I can't go to school today, Mum.

Mrs. Black: What's the matter?

David: I have a headache and a cough.

Mrs. Black: Oh, dear. You have a cold. I call Miss Li after breakfast.

Mrs. Black: Hello, may I speak to Miss Li?

Miss Li: This is Miss Li speaking.

Mrs. Black: This is David's mother. David has a cold today. He can't go to school. What lessons do you have today?

Miss Li: Let me see. It's Tuesday today. We have Chinese, English, Science and Art.

     Lily and Tom are good friends. They are in the same class. Lily has a red bag, but Tom's is blue. Tom has a nice bike, but Lily doesn't have one. Lily wears a yellow skirt today. Tom wears a white shirt. The cute black cat is Lily's. Tom has a little grey (灰色的) dog.

    A young man goes to the city and buys himself a pair of socks. When he comes back home, he goes to his room and tries them on. He finds they are in different colours. One is blue and the other is green. He goes into the kitchen. His mother and his sister are cooking dinner. He says to them, "The new socks are in different colours. I should make them in the same colour. Would you like to do this for me?" His mother and sister are busy and they don't say anything. When his mother finishes cooking, she goes to her son's room and makes the green sock in blue. She comes back without saying a word to her son. After supper, his sister goes to her brother's room and makes one blue sock in green without saying anything to anyone.
