Summer Holidays(暑假) in England

    With July coming, the summer holidays begin. Boys and girls will have 60 days to rest. The weather is good. Parents will take their children to the seaside(海边) for the holidays. The children like the sand(沙子), the sun, the cool wind and the water. Certainly there are lots of things to see, good things to eat, and exciting things to do. They can play ball games. They can go on field trips, too. They study real things on the field trips. What good holidays!

    My name is Liu Hua. I study in Guangming Primary School. I get up at 6: 30 every morning and eat breakfast at 7: 00. I go to school at 8: 00. I go home at 5:00 p. m. I usually do my homework before dinner. After dinner I watch TV. I go to bed at 9:00.

    It is a hot day in summer．A hungry lion is walking along a lake．He is looking for something to eat．A duck is swimming in the water．The lion is very happy to see him，"There is my lunch，"the lion says to himself．"Hello，Mr Duck!""Go away,bad lion!"says the duck．"I have good news for you．""What is it?"asks the duck．"I don't want other animals to hear it．Please come here．"says the lion．The poor duck gets out of the water and runs to the lion．The lion eats him up．

    A man was traveling abroad in a small red car. One day he left the car and went shopping. When he came back, its roof was badly damaged.

    Some boys told him that an elephant had damaged it. The man did not believe them, but they took him to a circus(马戏团) which was near there. The owner of the elephant said, “I am very sorry! My elephant has a big, round, red chair. He thought that your car was his chair, and he sat on it!"

    Then he gave the man a letter, in which he said that he was sorry and that he would pay for all the damage.

    When the man got back to his own country, the customs（海关） officers wouldn't believe his story. They said, “You sold your new car while you were abroad（国外） and bought this old one!"

    It was only when the man showed them the letter from the circus man that believed him.

John: Here they are.

Tom: OK. Can I read the books here?

John: Yes. Of course.

Tom: Anything else?

John: Yes. Keep your desk clean.

Tom: OK, I will. Thanks.

Dear Daming,

    I like collecting stamps. I've got many stamps. They are from different countries. I have some Chinese stamps. They are from my Chinese friend, Xiao Doudou. And one has got a picture of the Great Wall on it. I like it very much.
