   You may think it's difficult for them to sleep, but they have no such problems because giraffes don't often stop for a snooze(打盹). As they are so tall—males can grow up to 18 feet, giraffes actually have the shortest sleep requirement of all mamma1s哺乳动物), with an average(平均) of half an hour a day. When they sleep, they seldom lie down and sleep for minutes at a time, since it's difficult for them to get up again and it's dangerous in the wild. But the giraffe in the zoo sleeps around 4.6 hours per day, mostly at night. It usually sleeps lying down.

     Drinking Water may cause problems for the animals because their long necks are too short to reach the ground. To drink they must spread their legs in an uncomfortable position, which makes them easily hunted by other animals like Africa's big cats. As a result. thev get most of their water from the plants that they eat. They only need to drink water every few days.

    Sometimes people come into your life and you know that they are there to teach you a lesson, or to help you understand who you are or who you want to become.

    You never know these people who may be a classmate, a neighbour or a friend—but when you lock your eyes on them, you know at that very moment they will influence your life in some ways.

    Sometimes things that happen to you may seem unpleasant, painful, or frustrating at first. But in another way, you find that without getting over those difficulties you would have never realized your ability, strength or will power (意志力).

    The people you meet and the success you get help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are sometimes the most important ones.

    If someone loves you, give love back to them in the way you can, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

    If someone hurts you, or breaks your heart, forgive(原谅) them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being careful of people around.

    Self-confidence is necessary to a person. If you're not confident，it will be hard for others to believe in you. Learn a lesson in life each day you live!

    I can still remember my first day at school. I was only 6 years old at that time. It was a very big room. I sat at the desk near the window, but I couldn't see anything because the window was too high. There was a big map of the world on the wall and an old blackboard. I don't think I was worried or afraid at that time. There was another little boy next to me. He sat there and kept silent at first. Then he began to cry, because he didn't want to stay there.

    More and more students came in, but the boy didn't stop crying. "Mom, I want to go home." He cried again and again. Later, the teacher came in. She went to the little boy, and said something to him. I couldn't hear what she said. Soon the boy stopped crying and began to smile.     Making the most of time is important in our life. Here are some tips that might be of help to you.

    Make a plan. You should make a list of what you want to finish every week. The plan includes things you want to finish. You should know what the most important ones are, and try your best to do them first.

    Control your stress. No matter what kind of stress you have, try to keep cool. When you have a lot of things to do, too much stress may make you slow. Don't work all day without breaks.

    Focus on one thing at a time. Don't try to do many things at a time! You will lose your focus (注意力), and it will take you longer to finish your work.

    Just say "no". If you really don't have the time to help out, just say "no". You're only one person, and you can't save the world by yourself!

    Stop wasting time on the phone. While talking on the phone, keep your conversations short. In this way, you'll waste much less time.

    Relax. The most important thing is to take time to relax. Even if it's a 10-minute walk, get away from your work and get relaxed.
